Problem with changing my bank account

When I had created my account in the middle of august I thought I had made a typo with my bank account number. However eBay accepted the typo as correct. Now when I want to change my bank information to the correct account number, it asks me to verify with the incorrect account number,I.e the one I don’t remember because it was a typo. I have $700 in limbo because eBay accepted a typo in my account number and I can’t change it any other way. That is to say after I made a new account and input the correct account number so I could sell the rest of the stuff I wanted to sell, I did a little experiment. I added the bank info for the payouts, then I tried to replace it with the same exact account, and you know what it asked me to use to verify that it was me? It wasn’t my account number but rather my phone number!!! Why is it that it is pestering me with verifying my main account with a false account number when my other account asks me to verify with a simple text?! Why did eBay allow me to put in a incorrect account number and accept it?! None of this makes any sense at all, and I don’t want to be out $700

Sorry for the wall of text, I’m at the end of my ropes here and I need advice as to what I should do?

It wasn't your account number, but it was a good account number.

Have you contacted Ebay?

If you can, don't know, try adding the correct account as a "new" account in sellers hub in the payment window. Then mark it as primary, then delete the old wrong account. Like I said, don't know it that will work for the payout account. After you do that, if it works, clear your browsing history and cache. I have tried correcting bank info in the past by editing what was there and could not get it to take. Had to enter as new source then mark as primary.  

Does eBay send micro deposits when you update account information?

Every time I try to change the information to the right one, it asks me to verify with the account number. I type in the accurate account number, but it says it’s not the correct account number.

If it was the correct account number it would have accepted me when I put in my account number to verify, but it keeps telling me it’s the incorrect account number and to put in the right one

Hope my suggestion is saying the right thing. I am not saying edit the old account info, I am saying add the new or correct information as a new separate payment source if you can. Like adding a new/different account to your list of old ones. 

Do you already have another account that this question is about, this one was only opened on Sept 7th not the middle of August.
