I found something strange, not sure if this is a new glitch. For some search terms, I can't view all the listings. For an example, when I search for "kenwood km x1" it says 4 results but shows only 1 listing. If I change the sort method, it shows different listings. Mobile App search results correctly show all 4 results. What could be causing this issue? I don't have any filters assigned. I've tried on 3 different browsers, and 2 different eBay accounts. Same result. It does the same thing to other long tail search terms as well. Some general terms do show a correct number of items.

BTW...you can see more of an item, just go to completeds and click on one that didn't sell. Then you click on the relisted item, and there it is...listed, but unable to be purchased unless you access it from completed unsold listings.
Ebay, a giant tech company, is inept at tech.

I agree with the first example on that it is not showing but 1 result........
But could people give other examples? I'm doing searches this morning and they look correct......
To work on these problems ebay needs info.........

Ebay needs info? So they have to come to the selling board to figure out what is going on? hahaha sigh.
Any one of their inept programmers that made this go live could do various searches and find that there are "20 results" or whatever number, and only ONE to be seen and purchased.

We are ALL unhappy with this kind of stuff........ we can gripe about it or try to get it fixed.......for our own benefit

dhbookds,
I highly doubt that ebay isn't aware of the problem. They choose not to roll back code because they don't mind wasting seller's time and money while they write some more bad code to go on top of the other code in an effort to "fix it".
Like your other thread I just responded to, where ebay in their total lack of wisdom has marked all "used" items in that particular search as "refurbished" setting every one of those sellers up for "not as described" cases.
This site is a wreck.

On that one, when I click on completed listings, I still can't see the other listings, unlike a search I did earlier that you could access the relisted items through completeds. Doesn't make any difference, buyers aren't going to search to find items to buy through completed listings anyway.

I don't think anyone says listings are not hidden. Search is borked and has been for some time. The OP should make sure that Ebay is not defaulting their search to a specific category. He/she should also open the listing page to see if it shows all the missing listings somewhere on the page.
What the cheerleaders say is that Ebay is not hiding listings for specific people to meet some quota. That makes no sense.

@fashunu4eeuh wrote:Ebay's CEO announced that last February that the platform is going to be product-based, and something like only the top four items will show initially. What everyone is experiencing here sounds like a version of this proposed change. I haven't seen the new product-based pages myself, but am wondering if this is possibly a test of some kind rather than a glitch? Product-based shopping, like Amazon uses, will replace the current listings-based shopping experience this year for eBay, so Devin Wenig says.
Well, it must not be a very well-known fact that the these changes are being tested and/or already implemented. See alan@ebay's response (post #7) in this thread: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Search-completely-broken/m-p/28729003#M45008
But then again, the right hand never knows what the left is doing at eBay, so one shouldn't be surprised.

Thanks Dande.......
That juicer certainly shows the problem........ switch the various filters: Best match, ending soonest, etc......and the one item changes.........
Can you get us some info?

There is also this thread on the same topic, so alan already knows

yes, but the more pressure the better...... the more examples, the better.....you will note he called it a "strange one", I believe, which doesn't denote much importance. 100 examples are perhaps going to increase the urgency....... We can only try......

Sure. He's not tech and ebay likes to downplay the tragedy of their so called "glitches". These aren't little glitches, they are very bad programming impacting no doubt millions of sellers and buyers alike.
If you searched for an item and it said x number of results, but you could only see one, would you buy that one? I wouldn't. I would leave ebay for the day, or the week...and sometimes, those buyers never come back.

When you did one of those searches, did you happen to notice over on the right some photos that seemed to be of the same items? Just photos in a vertical line. I didn't click on any of them to see where it took me.
Also did you notice on these strange searches that after you get past those Sponsored things that there is just dead white space under there all the way to the bottom of the page?

I see "browse related" on the right side of the page in a vertical line there are items. Is that what you see?
