Please change my email language from French to English

Hello, I made my ebay account while I was on holiday in France and all of my incoming ebay emails arrive in French - I cannot understand French and there are no options to change this.

Can the admins please change my email language to English please?

Bonus points: Please program a way for users to change the language they receive ebay emails in.

I looked over the site preferences and did not see any option to set a preferred language for communications. You mentioned setting up the account while in France. France is on a different eBay domain than the US this may be the issue. Just because a account was created in 1 domain does not mean it can not log into other domains. You probably will have to contact eBay to see if they can fix this on their end. Right now they only have email support. It may just be easier to create a new account.

Updating your country or currency settings

When you first register on eBay, we’ll ask you to choose a home country or region. This helps us show you the most relevant items in the correct currency and in an appropriate language.

You can choose a new home country or region at any time by updating your registration information.

Here’s how:

1. Go to the change registration information - opens in new window or tab page.
2. In the Country field, choose your country from the dropdown menu.
3. If applicable, you can change the rest of your address. 
4. Select change registration information.
5. Review your changes and select submit.

How to change your billing currency

If you’re a seller and change your country or region, we’ll still invoice you in the currency of the country or region you originally chose. However, it’s possible to update your billing currency once every 12 months.

If you’re a managed payments seller, you can’t change your country or currency settings at the moment. We’ll update you when that changes.

So I will give an update for anyone in the same problem and this worked for me:

You need to go here and email eBay: https://www.ebay.com/help/email_click?topicId=4200&fromIssueId=true&l2Name=Managing%20your%20contact...

Ask them this: "Can the admins please change my email language to English please?"

You may receive a muddled answer from eBay staff and in turn you respond with this link and explanation:

"Email language can't be changed, as it is tied to the site. You can ask eBay Germany to change your SITE registration (not your registration address) to eBay U.S. (ebay.com), or eBay UK (ebay.co.uk). Only eBay can make that change."

So please change my email language to English.
