Picture not working

It would be nice if all the pictures in item descriptions were working. Customers need to  see all the  photos not every other one. This is through all the items I checked out?????????????????????

So, we are just to be patient while we  lose bids???????????

I can hear it already -- Sorry, we had a problem. How much  money is  sorry worth.

I'm thinking about  taking down all  my auctions and restarting later.

VERY UPSET

I took a quick look at your listings and did not see any gallery pictures that failed to load.

If you are seeing missing images or broken links, try another browser to see if the results are any different. If a second browser shows the images, and restarting your original browser does not help, then try deleting your temporary internet files or cache and eBay cookies in your original browser.

I go to any item description - click on  photo to get the line of closeups.

1st picture comes up then click the arrow to go to next photo and  it skips every other one. If there are 12 pictures I get 7. If 6 pictures I get 3. You can skip the line of closeups and put cursor on each picture and it will show up fine. However, most people click the picture and then go down the line of  photos.

Pictures not working.  Rebooted and I always clean my  cache.

PICTURES NOT WORKING CORRECLTY FOR ME.

PICTURES NOT WORKING if NOT WORKING TOMORROW I'M TAKING ALL MY AUCTIONS OFF.  period

thanks for your help

Ebay will eventually get the bug taken care of. Eventually don't make me any money.

Please don't respond! Pictures are not working and I don't  want to  be ran around in circles.

All the pictures are showing up for me in Firefox, Chrome and Edge. Here is what I can see:

The issue may be occurring at your end. Try another browser and see if the results are any different.

You are not alone in failed pictures. Several reports have been logged about it. The BLUES were notified on Aug 2. I presume a fix will be coming soon. At least I hope so, as I too have lost pictures.

I did as you said, clicked on the photo, which took me to the full (1/2) Page view, clicked on the arrows to advance the pictures, as in a slide show.......  each showed up fine......

I''m not trying to run you around in circles.......just trying to tell you what I see, which may be what buyers see.  If that's true, canceling your listings would be a waste of time/money......

This is definitely occurring and I've seen it on numerous listings in the past couple of months.  It appears to be random and I don't think it's related to what browser you use.

What I typically would see would be the main listing photo and the rest of the thumbnails would not display (just a white image).  Occasionally, all of the photos would show-up as just a white image.

I just checked two of your listings and could see all of the photos in each of them.

I don't believe he's talking about the images that present in the listing......rather he's talking about the popup that comes up when a picture is clicked on.......  that brings up a type of slideshow.......wherein an arrow is clicked to advance to the next picture.......

I've seen issues with photos not displaying in different ways:

  • When you first go to the listing, and no photos display.
  • When you first go to the listing, and only the main photo displays.
  • When you click one of the photos for the slide show, and some don't display.

This seems to be an issue where the photo data isn't loading properly.  In most cases, when I tried again later, I could see all of the photos.

I eventually found a similar complaint on the Member to Member board:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Member-To-Member-Support/Why-is-every-other-photo-skipped-when-viewing...

Apparently the problem only occurs only when using the arrow keys on the keyboard to advance the images -- clicking on individual images or using the arrow icon to advance seems to work as expected. Images are loading, but are simply skipped over when advancing using the keyboard.

In Edge, Avast browser or Opera on a PC, using the arrow key skips every other image.

When I try that in Firefox or Chrome, it actually skips over two images, so if I start at the first image, I then see the fourth, seventh and tenth (and then the last).

So far I have not found an alternate key combination that works to advance the images one at a time, so the only workaround I can offer is to use the mouse to select one of the skipped over images and proceed from there. If there are an odd number of images you can get the odd numbered images going forward and the even numbered images going back from the last image (at least in Edge, Avast or Opera for a PC). Or use the arrow icons instead of keys to advance.

Hi @dhbookds, I can pass this along for review though we may find that this is not a site error but instead working as intended; most people do not use the arrow keys on their keyboard to navigate photos like this, as their hand is already on the mouse when they click into the photo. If this is working as intended, I can suggest that the arrow keys also perform the functions that clicking the arrows on screen do, no problem! Thanks everyone for sharing so much detail slight_smile

That's good information and very helpful.

In the cases where I saw photos not displaying, I wasn't using arrow keys.  Just going to the listing resulted in no photos displaying (i.e. main and thumbnails) or just the main photo displaying.

For the times where I clicked on the photo to scroll through the slide show, I used my mouse to scroll through.  When there was a problem only some of the photos would display.
