We have a big store. 4900 items. Have sold this way for 10 years and grown becasue we sell rare items that will show up on the first page of google. Just accepted free returns, which we dont like and 10 days later, havent indexed yet and dont show up when you sort by free returns. My pictures arent showing up half the time, just went to edit and it says no pictures with an item that has very large nice pictures. I cant see any international items without a few extra clicks so Im guessing thats why our international sales have come down this month. Now on top of it, we cant put our store on sale.
The people who are creating these nonstop overlapping updates must not sell on ebay. What theyre doing is insane and rapid fire. There are more than 80 comments on 2 threads of people that were clueless this was happening becasue we cant keep up with how many updates come out at once now that are drastic and so many other things are not fixed. I havent been able to reply to potential buyers on the mobile app for a year. They have to wait until I come home. My pics arent showing up. Now to search my store, buyers end up looking at ebays categories that are way out of whack with our store and how it jives and doesnt help buyers find items in the real world. I put the store on vaction yesterday to work on something else. It doesnt matter what my price is, marketing with constant sales has worked for 10 years and anytime the store is off sale, the sales die. Its not cheating on price, people like the sales, its marketing and we sell stuff most people dont have.
I honestly cant figure out how us making less sales on this platform, makes ebay more money or more valuable. Or how chasing larger sellers off with constant insane upodates is going to help the revenue. There is almost nothing left to take away. 10% that we dont care about but are giving free returns a shot before throwing in the towel. We were on target to sell over 500k this year here. Years of continual growth due to us adding new rare items, years of the same repeat customers. This is not due to free returns as we arent discounters. Our customers buy or they dont. Its like being squished through a funnel with a bunch of stores that are nothing like us. Problems that were fixed are now again, broken.
After selling here for 10 years and keeping a diary of all that has happened. Its something more than just a growing corporation. Its very aggressive and unfriendly with its sellers. We feel like we have no control here over anything and are very unhappy when we are at the height of what weve created. Everything takes longer, everything costs more via some other lopsided perk were giving. We do have the merchandise however and they are not making anymore of it.
