Glitch or new ebay change?I asked a question on an active listing as the seller had a minor error in the listing which I thought that they should change. They contacted me and thanked me for the info but told me that they could not edit the listing as they had received an offer.
I thought that that they could still add additional info outside the body of the listing but they said that feature was no longer there.
I then asked if they would like me to ask again so that they could post my message to the listing thereby correcting the minor error. They said that would be great. I sent another message and they said that they were unable to post it to the listing.
The ability for a seller to post questions received was a valuable feature and needs to be re-instated. I understand that this is a member to member board but how do we get ebay to hear this or is there another way for a seller to add info to a listing or post a buyer’s question to the listing?
If I’m missing something, please advise but IMO these changes have left a seller with an error in the listing. I found it during a search for the specific item but since I interacted with the seller I had hoped that there was a way to help them so someone doesn’t buy it and claim SNAD on a minor issue.

True but that cant fly if the item is bought at the BIN price. If the item is expensive, the seller can end it and relist before it’s sold or immediately contact the buyer and disclose the mistake offering to cancel the transaction if the buyer doesn’t want but most would say no biggie IMO. I know, as a buyer, I’d leave good feedback but just cancel the trans if the issue had meaning for me but I can see how it could be a valid legit issue for SNAD and I don’t want to see the seller potentially get hurt or lose money on shipping fees which could be significant on the return although initial shipping was dirt cheap.
I think I answered my own question lol. I really think it’s in the best interest of the seller to end the listing on whatever they call “error in the listing”, and relist.
I’m convinced that the ability for a seller to edit can be lived without but questions should be able to be posted at the seller’s discretion only. I’ve learned a lot from reading the questions of others.

TY but the outcome is the same either way-no questions post. I know I’ve learned tons good and bad that definitely influenced some buying depending on posted questions and how they’re answered. And, in the case of a listing that can’t be revised, a posted question could allow the seller to add further information.
Hope that this can be fixed for buyers and sellers.

Hi @jsales0, the option to publish questions that a seller has received is still available, however this would not be on the listing itself any longer. We made a change to this early last year and move these questions to the "Contact Seller" flow. Now, when a buyer is going to ask a question, they will be presented with answers based on the different topics listed that pull from the item specifics, shipping details and also from any questions the seller has elected to publish. Below I have included examples of how this would appear to a buyer:
The Contact Seller option is to the right of the price, opposite of the listing photo
Here you can see the list of topics the buyer can choose from when looking for more information
Each section will include commonly asked questions and answers generated using the listing details as well as questions and answers that the seller has elected to publish.
Here is the "Other" section which still includes questions and answers the seller has chosen to publish but does not have any system generated questions.
Below, you will find photos of how this will look for sellers:
The seller can answer the question for the listing directly from the listing page.
When answering and before sending the reply, a seller can select to have this question published to their listings using the option highlighted in green.
I hope this helps clear up any confusion!

Hi @jsales0, additionally, I forgot to include in my last response that a listing are limited in the revisions they can receive while there is a pending Best Offer. After you respond to a best offer, you can change any information other than the format or duration.

As I commented in my own post, as a seller I received a question and DID check the box to have the question and my answer to the question posted on the listing.
The problem is that it did NOT post and it hasn't been posting for some time.

As was stated, since the format was changed, questions are NOT posting but thanks for explaining the format. That however, isn’t the problem.

Hi @albertabrightalberta, could you tell me specifically which question and answer you are not seeing? I see buyer questions and the related answers on your listings but am happy to look into this further if you can give me more details.

Hi @jsales0, I apologize if I misunderstood your post; you stated that a seller you were communicating with no longer had the option to post a question to their listing. I confirmed that this is not the case and provided screenshots. I tested this out to take some of those screenshots and was able to post a question without issue. The option is available for questions sellers receive about one of their items and I didn't run into any issues posting or viewing the answers as you had described.
While I would have to hear from your seller to troubleshoot the specific example they provided, if you have a question you received on one of your listings that you were unable to post I'm happy to look into this for you. Definitely let me know if you have an example

What is the problem?
If it is that the seller can not revise, as stated, if the offer is declined/removed/gone for whatever reason, the seller can then edit/revise.
