And now we need to send our apologies and cover for the incompetence of the venue which can't seems to hire Adequate programmers who can fix this well known old Glitch,
Another unjustified order cancellation and another disappointed buyer, it's getting old.
We already have a standard template which we find quite handy when we need to cancel another purchase of already sold Item, we just feel in the blanks the item specifics, takes seconds.

I had that happen to me once. Sold a trading card set in October (the only one), then all of a sudden I get a purchase for it in July of the next year. I had NO idea it was relisted. Ebay glitched and relisted it. Luckily the person I sold it to never messaged or responded to my messages of apologies, or leave me bad feedback- just accepted my refund and that was that. Of course Ebay dinged me for it. UGH! Im glad to hear I wasn't the only one this happened to, but also sorry its still happening that you had to make a template!!!

Can't you get that ding removed? I would hope so.

A competent person would immediately check their listing as soon as the last one sold.

And any competently run selling platform would not have a glitch like this in the first place.

I feel your pain! This happened to me just last month. Ebay knows of this problem and has let it go on for years without any resolution. Shame on them for putting us in that awkward position

That's the Beauty of this Glitch.
It will "show" zero, sold out.
And then it sells again. You have to delete the listing in entirety and it does not happen to every listing, it is random.
Buyers think you are scamming them, don't wish to ship to them - want more $$ for it.
It is a pain and reflects poorly on the Seller. Totally avoidable as e-Bay knows the Glitch is there, has admitted it.
And yet. Here we remain.

@flyingmvp I'm sorry this happened to you. You would think with ebay's intense focus on making sellers ensure a happy customer, that they don't address their own issues that ruin the experience for both the buyer and seller.

What reason do you give to ebay for the cancellation?

Its gone now-its been that long ago. I figured eBay wouldn't believe me if I called and told them THEY relisted an item I had sold MONTHS before. It was the only ding I had so I didn't want to waste my time. If it should happen again I might call them on it for principle sake....but so far so good.

Those ghost listings don't necessarily show up just after it's been sold. I've had them show up months and even a year later. When you only ever had one to begin with you know it's an eBay glitch. Fortunately, I do check as it's an ongoing problem and I've caught the majority of them before it was sold. But this can be very difficult for sellers who have 1000's of listings to go through them regularly.

Ah, I see your point.
