I can't find any history of purchases made after the end of December 2023. Particularly, there are two different home alarm purchases (two vendors, same device) I made recently, which deserve positive feedback. I can't find them. Also, I bought a joystick from a vendor, and we exchanged follow-up email, which needs a reply. I can't send it because there's no record of the purchase. But... eBay sent me a request to review the item, with the correct particulars, but won't let me do the review because I didn't, according to the purchase history, buy it.
None of these items are under review or need dispute resolution. I thought this might be a transient problem, but it's continued for several days.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I just checked mine and it is displaying reverse-chronologically, as usual. Out of curiosity, have you tried to tick the drop-down 'See orders: All' filter (on the right) to '2024'? I don't know that it will kick-start it, but great luck if it does!

I tried "last 60 days" and "2024" and got "nothing found". Additionally, the account is generally acting as if I were recovering from an out of date backup being restored. I got 15+ notifications about 2-3 year old posts and badges, something I didn't see loosely a week ago.

I reposted the question after not seeing replies. There was one reply but didn't find it until about an hour ago.
For the record, the question raised in the reply is "are you using the right account". I have one account, and that's it.

Those are likely concerning your eBay community posts here, since it looks like you have not posted or replied in the community pages since 2021 using this account -- until today.

Well, there was a lot of chatter after resolving an issue in '21; no resp[onse needed.
Anyway, the topic at hand is the missing purchase history, and why part of eBay thinks I bought something (requested review), and another part doesn't (no record of item to be reviewed).

Is the most recently purchased item still listed (not removed from the site)?
If you go to the item listing, does it indicate you made a purchase?

Well, now... I got to the seller's page and either he's got nothing listed or somehow his account's in trouble, too. In any case no luck finding the listing I bought.
I looked at my browsing history, and it also stops at the end of Dec., '23. There's no sign of any browsing for anything, bought or not. Everything stops at the end of '23.

How about the home alarm purchases? Are those items still listed, and is there any indication of your purchases when you check the listings, if you can still find them?
One missing listing or transaction could certainly be explained by a problem with the seller, but three transactions in a row (where two have already been delivered without any apparent issue) is much less likely to be due to problems on the part of all three sellers.

I bought out all of the sellers, which is why I bought the same thing twice.
The joystick sale was a one time sale for one item. I don't have paper records for the alarm sensors, but I do for the joystick. There's no obvious way back to the specific item from that seller.
Keep in mind there's no record of browsing for anything, let alone what I bought, in 2024. Oh, yes, and that includes the record of the conversation with the joystick seller; it's gone, too.
It's almost like eBay's trying to gaslight me. 😉

FWIW, the 2024 purchase history is probably gone at this point. I did some browsing, and that history is still present, at least the day afterwards.
In short, the mystery remains.

There are two main possibilities as I see it.
Either eBay somehow systematically erased all traces of two months worth of data from your account -- viewed items, purchases, feedback, messages -- or else those two months of purchases were made using an entirely different eBay account than the one you are using now.
If the first case is what actually happened, the information is likely gone unless eBay somehow manages to restore it for you. In any event, that is entirely out of your control.
In the second case, the information still exists, and you just need to figure out how to sign back in to this other eBay account to get your information and to deal with your transactions. This is in your control.
I think you should revisit that second possibility.
Did you get a new phone or computer for Christmas, perhaps?
04-04-2024 10:23 AM
Nope, no new computers under the Christmas tree. If my wife wants something from eBay (very rare), I handle it with the account I'm using for this topic. No second accounts for "she doesn't need to know". No "signed in as guest".
As a matter of fact, I was in Germany for Christmas and New Year holidays. The last recorded purchase was delivered on Dec. 8, '23 and returned before I left for Germany. No eBay-ing done while I was in Germany.
I suspect there was a hiccough in eBay somewhere. Snipping purchases and browsing off right at the start of 2024 is a little too neat and tidy. It's suggestive of data lost at an obvious date boundary. Even if the data can't be recovered, it'd be nice to know what happened.
