USPS recently updated my zip code but when i tried to update my address, eBay refuses to let me update, saying that my new zip code (97250) is invalid.
I now have to explain to sellers every time I made a purchase, to ask them to use my new zip code instead of the one shown on my eBay address. Some sellers were concerned if that would jeopardize their sellers' protection as they are technically sending to a "different" address as shown by eBay.
Can Ebay update their system to recognise the new zip code, or to let me update my address?

Google says that is a zip codes used for Portland Oregon and also it is used in Germany. I wonder if they have a error and their system thinks with that zip code your country should be set to Germany. I would call eBay and report the issue.

You also need to completely remove your old address and ship to addresses. The sellers are right if they change the address and something happens like a bad delivery they are held accountable even if you told them to do it.

brian@ebay As I recall there have been several zipcode realignments in the Portland area recently. eBay should have a process for updating their systems from USPS on a regular basis. We do.

Thanks all. I tried deleting the entire address and adding it back in again. It sort of works, if i select the address eBay suggested. But if i tried to enter the zip code manually, it is recognized as invalid.

Hi @sci80312, is the address recommended by us correct?

I'm still encountering this same problem.
Anyone managed to overcome this issue?
Kindly to share here? Thanks.

Is there a need to delete the existing address record in your case?
Unfortunately, it doesn't seems to work despite not entering the zip code manually

This thread is two months old, the OP who last logged in 2 months ago is registered in Singapore, and the zip they were asking about is classified as a Unique ZIP Code.
"Some organizations (such as large businesses, universities, or government agencies) receive an incredible volume of mail. For efficiency, the USPS may assign organizations like these their own unique ZIP Code consisting of a single delivery point. All mail addressed to a unique ZIP Code is routed internally by the assigned organization rather than by the USPS. If an address includes a valid unique ZIP Code, then the address is always marked deliverable."
