New Tab Opens When Clicking on Item Link

Every time I click on a item link from my Saved Searches Ebay opens a new tab... Very, Very annoying... If I wanted a new tab I could open one myself... What's up with this?? Doesn't happen on any other site.. More non improvements or just another glitch?

This is definitely an Ebay issue or should I say "new improvement" & is happening on every listing I look at today..Ebay searches..  my saved searches..  saved sellers.. my lists.. etc... no matter what browser I use....

There's no point in this. If you want to open a link in a new tab it's easy: right click and chose the option. Just about every other sales website i have ever used uses the normal navigation so you have to relearn the ebay system every time you use it. Really annoying:
the worst innovation since infinite scrolling (wonder how long before that appears). Please rethink.

I totally agree with everyone here.

I dont want 30 or more tabs open when i browse for something.

GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER EBAY.

Im a computer engineer and I advise people to open as few things at a time as possible!

New Tab Opens When Clicking on Item Link

I am now proper fed up with the new window for every item to the point I close the ebay tab completely, usually well before I find what I'm looking for. Ebay is starting to become a chore to use, I am spending less and less time on ebay.....

I hate this too. Thought it was Firefox.

New Tab Opens When Clicking on Item Link

This has been happening to me in Firefox, which is my normal browser of choice. I switched to Google Chrome but with the same result: a new tab on every link clicked. I then switched to Microsoft Edge (which I don't really care for) but links do open in the same tab, at least for the moment.

New Tab Opens When Clicking on Item Link

The info in the above link does fix the problem, but creates another. The 'browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction' setting is modified from 0 (default) to 2. This causes problems with popup windows, such as eBay's Paypal checkout. I've simply reverted back to the default for this setting. Hope this helps those struggling with eBay's **bleep** coding using Firefox.

...sorry! Default is 2. Setting was set to 2 and when I changed it to 0, I had the popup problem. I've now changed it back to 2! Sorry for the confusion!!!

New Tab Opens When Clicking on Item Link

Since ebay sent out emails to all sellers a week or so ago asking them to modifiy all of their listings 1 at a time so that a new window does not pop up each time you look at an item I have to believe that ebay could make the fix themselves but are too selfish to do so.  They want everyone's money, be it from listings, the sales of items or a percentage of shipping and handling fees.  It is insane. Sellers pay them to provide a working service and customers like myself shop ebay because they are making $ hand over fist from sellers.  In the emails it stated that it was solely "Google Chrome" at fault for this problem that is happening. But since Firefox users are having the same issues, I once again have to believe that the issue lies with ebay and they are too cheap and lazy to fix the issue.  When they lose us as customers they will blame it on the sellers as they always do instead of looking at how they make life difficult for all involved.  I guess Amazon will be gaining even more business since ebay seemingly cannot fix their own computer system provisions.
