New Shipping Label Page

If someone had asked me a month ago what the benefits of selling on ebay were over that ‘other site’, I’d have said that printing ebay shipping labels was one. But now ebay is testing a new shipping label process and that benefit is going, going…

For one thing, why allow negative numbers? Try as a have, the post office will NOT accept any parcel that weighs less than nothing. I can see no purpose for this. Maybe someone can enlighten me.

For another, the page clearly states that package dimensions are not required if under a pound. Yet they are.

And another, the labels print out slightly smaller than with the old system and since half of our sales are now using each system (the old and new), our mailing labels are slightly different sizes. This slight difference has led to several problems mis-cutting the labels (as a stack) and then having to reprint them over again. Maybe this is some printer setting of ours but I’m sure you could have avoided this. You know. For us sellers.

Overall, it just seems clumsy. I’ll get used to it, but it doesn’t seem designed to save sellers’ time.

And still no Bound Printed Matter (BPM) option which every other site we sell on does offer. BPM can save quite a bit of money for those who sell books and magazines. I’m sure ebay could figure out how to incorporate this. Shouldn’t ebay occasionally try to save us money instead of always raising its fees?

New Shipping Label Page

And while we're at it, can we please change the utterly random 4-label limit per sale? We occassionally get orders that ship in up to 8 boxes. So we have to print out 4 here, and the rest over at Paypal. Again, ebay not making it easy for their sellers.

Though I'm sure there's a major problem with sellers haphazardly printing out, and paying for, hundreds of labels they don't need just for the giggles but, really...
