My Collections went missing

As the subject states, a Collections option under My EBay is nowhere to be found.

Is this new and/or related to the infamous Watch List changes?

BTW EBay Devs, what I put on a Watch List has NOTHING TO DO with the content of Collections. I use the latter to keep track of previous and accomplished purchases for future reference.

Since I have purchases in mind TODAY, this has really created a BAD experience.

Hi,
As of today I can no longer add items to my Collections, which I actively use to view and purchase from. I've spoken with customer service and written 2 messages to Ebay. Without the ability to accumulate collections and view & compare, I won't be purchasing as much on Ebay. I had already started purchasing on Etsy, which still offers collections. (although it's not a bidding site, just buy) I will now be using Etsy much more. It's very sad that they have taken away such a useful tool! My purchases will now be limited to ones in the moment. Sadly, no more comparison viewing or collecting. I spend a great deal of money on Ebay, and as a consequence of this update, that will be stopping.

P.S. I do not want to put everything in one long list in my Watch List! I want things I'm considering purchasing or watching grouped TOGETHER in my "Collections", so I can COMPARE condition, price, location, shipping etc! In addition, I like yourself, also refer to it as history or to base future purchases on. TERRIBLE DECISION BY EBAY!! Susan

The existing collections are hidden under Watch List > Wish List. As stated above, there seems to be no way to add to them or move items between collections. Apparently a dead feature.
It's not clear if an item on a Wish List will disappear after the sale 'expires'.
Really stupid move, eBay !!

Hi again Mike,
Adding to collections was fixed today, so you can now add & delete to collections. Also, you can find your collections by clicking under "Hi ----" on your user name at the top left-hand corner. This will take you to your profile page and your collections will be just beneath. Hope this helps! I was very glad to be able to view & add to my collections. Let's hope they keep COLLECTIONS! Sending thanks to a very lovely young lady in Ebay Customer Service.

Susan, thanks for the tip. It's still mysterious .....

- why they hide Collections under my profile rather than the logical pulldown 'My eBay'.

- why this community forum is too well hidden, WAY DOWN in the bottom page footer.

Seen this anti-customer behavior on other major web sites *cough*YouTube*cough*Flickr* where some young 'manager' spouts that 'we changed (DELETED) this feature to Improve Your Experience.  Riiiiiight.

BTW checked out etsy.com - WAY too narrow a product focus. For many items it's here or Amazon. Newegg is very good for electronics items and, of course, computer stuff.

Just tried two actions, both failed:
- The Add to Collection button does nothing - it should prompt you for Which Collection?
- There is no way to add a new collection!
Of course, it could be just the standard eBay way - Hide useful functionality !

Couldn't agree more!! Why all the hiding, hunting, secrecy, difficulty...."to make it better" is beyond me!! I have a feeling that they don't want us to find our collections, which is sooo weird because they HELP me make purchases! Yes, I love & use Etsy, even though it is very narrow. I'll have to look at Newegg. I havent' heard of that one. Thanks!

I posted a reply to your "2 failed actions", but I'm not seeing it here....I talked to Customer Service at Ebay, and they eventually put me through to a specialist or manager at (866) 643-1607. Maybe if you contact them, they will help! So sorry, it hasn't worked so far! I don't know what's going on.....Susan

I agree with everyone's comments- I use Collections to save ideas for future purchases.  Why the hell did Ebay hide them so thoroughly?  I've just spent the past 45 minutes searching for the link to my Collections, and I have to say that I'm thorougly **bleep** off with Ebay.  Way to deliver a bad customer experience, folks.

Hi, Mike yes you are correct the collection option is gone if you want to dd an item eBay has removed it now? Whats going on years of my collections I put together just gone seem eBay took this way so you know can create collections. I have had it with eBay. **bleep**. What isn't wrong with eBay?? The site is so glitchy I find it extremely difficult to control my browser it bogs down entire laptop..really bad

I cant say the bad words I would like to say.. right now fed up with eBay greedy corporate. All the work that goes into that how cold and callus eBay has become. eBay got rid of collections altogether.  Unfortunately, eBay forgot to remove all the information about collections off their website (adding enormous confusion to those who mistakenly believe they still have collections).
In short, Collections are no longer a feature in eBay.
