Listings finish time order

I check Motorcycle Parts listings using "Ending soonest" but lately some sellers sites have items finishing 6 days later listed first. Sometimes I have to scroll through a couple of pages of items before I get to the correct soonest ending time. Is this a current technical issue?

Re: Listings finish time order

You may be seeing auctions appearing first, and then fixed price listings appearing after all the auction listings.

Try splitting your search into just auction or just buy-it-now listings; those separate lists should sort correctly.

Re: Listings finish time order

You will see Sponsored listings at the top of most searches, regardless of what order you sort them in. eBay makes extra money off these sellers by doing this. Having to wade through all of this garbage is the reason that I buy most new stuff from that other big website.

Re: Listings finish time order

Thanks for that - I haven't changed a thing about how I operate watch lists - here's an eg page - https://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_ssn=jdfatboy1&_sop=1 set on "ending first as of now.... what do you see listed? - I see an item ending in 1 day...then 11 ending in 3 days...2 ending in 4 days...then 4 ending within the hour. With time diff these will have probably changed

Re: Listings finish time order

Yes, I see your 14 auctions first, followed by all your fixed price listings.

I think eBay has changed the way fixed price listings sort -- since the "end time" of a fixed price listing is only a theoretical number that has no real meaning to anyone except the seller.

Re: Listings finish time order

I was being patient to see if listing order on some sellers sites had reverted back to chronological order - they haven't and having to continually look ahead (sometimes 3 pages) to see the correct "ending soonest" time is really time-wasting - is ebay aware of this issue?

Attached are 2 images as an eg. 1 shows the beginning of sellers listings using "ending soonest" option - 2 is screenshot further down the sellers listings showing "ending 8 days to next item at seconds.
