Is there trouble in eBayville?

I had to reset my password twice in 30 minutes tonight. I was locked out because eBay thought someone was using my account.  Is anyone else having this issue. Another separate issue--I can only view 10 items in my watchlist. In order to view other items I have to delete item(s) on that watchlist! There is only one page and I have dozens of items on the watchlist. This also applies to my custom lists- only 10 items and no apparent way to view more unless I delete one or more.

Thanks for your help.

If changing browsers allows the Watch List page to load properly, then something about the original browser is causing a problem for you. Unless you are using a very old version of the browser, in most cases that means either cache, cookies, settings or add-ons. Try clearing your cache and individual eBay cookies. Next try temporarily disabling any add-ons, or undoing recent changes to settings.

Using Firefox 89.0.1 my Watch List page seems to be working normally, so it is unlikely that there is any inherent problem with the browser itself.

If eBay is requiring you to change passwords, eBay may have noticed some difference in the way you are signing in to your account or something about your network connection that appears suspicious. Or perhaps someone else is attempting to sign in from a different location.

What browser are you using?

Try another browser, particularly if you are using Safari.

Are you able to view more items on your Watch List if you use another browser?

I used another browser BECAUSE this trouble started to happen. Before I was using reliable Firefox that has never given me any trouble. The technical aspect of eBay has always been good on any kind of browser and I've been using it since high school. I think this is an eBay issue since they've started making changes. This morning I had to use reset the password again for the third time.

Thank you all for your responses. I think it didn't like the very secure browser that I had used after the first glitch and reverting to the previous browser didn't work until I cleared all cookies.  I changed to a newer, more complex PW just to be safe.

I know eBay is most functional on Chrome.  They also update a lot of stuff in the back ground all the time and if some of those things get blocked via firewall, or confuse the system (Such as a VPN), it will break the system.

Also, if you're using microsoft explorer, that has not been supported for years and many site features simply wont work.

Very possible, particularly if that browser had a built-in VPN enabled by default.

You are most welcome -- glad to hear you got things sorted out.

I did some further experiments and found that Chrome and Opera displays the list favorites perfectly--25 or so items with page links to more. My Firefox is not current, so it does not like the eBay changes and only shows 10 favorite items.

On a side note, I like to use different browsers for different sites. A video tipped me to what is known as cross-site browser fingerprinting by Big Tech such as "BOO-GLE" and "InYourFacebook".  When I was a child I loved "boogle". It was like an encyclopedia and you can find everything immediately, always the top results were pertinent information! What a concept! How things have changed. Even Boolean techniques will fail to give relevant results. BOO-GLE. Indeed!

Being of curious nature, I still watch many BooTube videos -- which has been bought out by Boogle, but only use it on Chrome. People in general are good. They put out useful information on BooTube. You will find several videos on one very specific subject or tutorial. But big tech is not so good. So I only use Chrome for Bootube. I don't use "GeewhizMail" anymore. I also don't use their very popular GPS app "Daze" for directions. It was a fantastic app for finding your ways about the street but now it's a daze. Indeed!

They will not be happy with me talking about them this way. I know it's business and not personal, but I don't need to jump like a dog through their hoops if I can help it.

My Firefox is not current, so it does not like the eBay changes and only shows 10 favorite items.

Ah -- certain older versions of Firefox, and some new variants such as Waterfox seem to have problems with the Watch List page. The problem appears to be related to the list of categories shown at the top of the list not wrapping properly. Due to this, the page display is too wide, and the page numbers you can use to change pages may appear shifted; you may need to scroll right to see or use them.

If that is the problem you are encountering, it is possible to use an ad blocker to hide that category list and allow the rest of the page to load correctly.

The following filter rule works for me in Waterfox using Ad Block Plus:

ebay.com##.carousel__list

Try copying and adding that to your custom filter list to see if that fixes things. Or else try using the element hiding tool of your ad blocker to block that category list directly yourself.

I think it makes a great deal of sense to use different browsers for different tasks, and to make it harder for some of the larger tech firms to gather certain types of information from you. It is much easier to guard and maintain your privacy than it is to try to regain it after information has been spread around.

I just tried the Adblock Plus scripts and no it wouldn't solve the problem.  Now even the Summary page is exhibiting the same viewing behavior (only started recently).  Very annoying!!

Again, newer browsers do not exhibit such issue but those who are stuck with older operating systems (and thus older browser versions) are affected.  Shame on eB making the user interface more and more unbearable.

Make sure you have the latest version of Waterfox, if possible. Version G4.1.4 seems to display the Watch List and Summary pages for me correctly without using any Ad Block rules at all.

Is the category list at the top of the watch list section not wrapping correctly? If so, create a new ad blocking rule to suppress that.

Using Ad Block, I created the following rules that seem to work to suppress that category list once again:

www.ebay.com##UL[id="s0-0-33-0-6-m-carousel-list"][class="carousel__list"]
www.ebay.com##UL[id="s0-0-33-1-m-containers[]_1-m-carousel-list"][class="carousel__list"]

Or use a different browser that does not have the problem to view your Summary or Watch List.
