Is eBay considering a format change to the feedback profile page?

@sheila@ebay,  @ nicole@ebay,

  This morning, I accidentally clicked on a person's username instead of their feedback number from a topic.  When I was taken to their Me page and clicked on their feedback number I received the page below.

mudshark61369_0-1666095458619.png

There is no member since:   ...  or  Country of registry, which to me is important when buying.  At first I thought it was just the way I accessed the page, until a Tell Us What You Think box opened, asking me for my feedback.  That immediately made me think a possible change is in the works.  My Opinion, tell the team contemplating it, to go back to the drawing board or just leave well enough alone.  Especially, if the See all feedback button which takes one to the normal profile page will be removed.

Wow, that format strips out a LOT of useful information. Not only the registration date and country of registration as you noted, but also separate tabs for feedback received as seller vs buyer, and the number of DSR ratings in each of the 4 criteria. A bar rather than stars for DSR's is harder to scan (so just show the numbers!).

Hey @mudshark61369! Thank you for sharing this with us! I will be sure to get this over to the correct team and if they need any more examples or information on this I will be sure to reach back out.

The missing information helps me decide if I will buy from that seller or not.  Remove this key information and I will be less likely to use eBay for expensive purchases.  If you hide how long they have been a member or hide where they are shipping from, then it is too big of a risk to buy expensive items.  Not sure who told eBay to make this change, never seen anyone ask for it.

For me, it's not just expensive purchases. Anything I buy is because I want it or need it, and the hassle of a problematic transaction is the same no matter what I pay for an item. Bad transactions from lack of adequate decision-making information just add to stress levels, not to mention negative impressions of eBay as a reliable buying platform.

I buy so little on eBay these days due to a worthless search feature and high shipping costs (not eBay's or sellers' fault). Removing this information might be the end for me.

@mudshark61369, and others.

If you click on the blue "See all feedback" button, that will take you to the Feedback Profile page that you were probably expecting, which doesn't seem to have changed. All of the information about the user's country, DSRs and the tabs for buyer versus seller feedback are all still there.

The change only affects the User Profile page, that you get to by clicking on the user name (outside of the ebay community). Just about everything that had been useful on that page is now gone ... I thought that this was a done-deal change because I have been seeing this for several weeks now.

It is always changing.  eBay is like a baby growing up and about every three months to a year you are going to see changes.  I just think that eBay is an adult now and can slow down with the changes.

Everything is still there it is just a different way to get to it.

SHOP will take you to all items for safe

ABOUT will take you to Location and Member Since

FEEEDBACK will take you to Feedback

Click on SEE ALL FEEDBACK at bottom of Feedback page and it will take you to the old style looking Feedback.

I sort of like and I sort of dislike at top of page it shows how many ITEMS SOLD and how many FOLLOWERS you have.

Mostly that is the case for the feedback page, but unfortunately some useful info apparently no longer appears, such as the portion of the user profile page that showed the five most recent feedback comments along with the actual date those comments were received -- which was very useful in determining how long ago an account last received feedback, particularly when there was no recent feedback shown in the table on the feedback page.

That would be nice if I could see the actual date.  It may be the way my account is set up is why I have not seen the actual date feedback was left.  I have only ever seen feedback shown as past month, past 6 months or over a year.

Clicking on the feedback number will take you back to the old Feedback Profile page, for now anyway.  I suspect the old page will eventually be done away with.

The feedback page does not show the actual date the feedback was left other than in the table by column, or by noticing the notation in the comment list about comments being older than ninety days, within the past year, more than a year ago or older than five years.

Previously the user profile page had a rotating display of the last five feedback comments received on the right side of the page, and those did have dates shown or at least available for those five most recent comments.

Here is an example of an old profile page that shows the latest feedback comment  with date in the lower right:

@therockbadger "Not sure who told eBay to make this change, never seen anyone ask for it.  "

EXACTLY!

THIS NEW "experience" just means more clicks.

#1 priority of ANY link on the site should be give the clicker what they clicked on.  When I click on a member's feedback score, I expect to see all feedback- FB left as well as received, item FB pertains to and its price, and who left it.

Summaries look like platitudes. Hiding detail creates distrust.
