Kind of insulting to all the Sellers and Buyers who are still selling and buying here, don't you think? If you have a source for that statement, I think most of would be interested in seeing it. If you check the "I'm leaving, going to leave, etc" rhetoric posts, I think you will find that most are still here. What those outside these boards do, no one knows.
Just wondering, if you don't use the Notification function, how do you know when I post? You seem to reply very quickly.
You perhaps have seen that you are the only one complaining about the lack of board notifications........at least from the posts I've seen....... that's because most regulars on these boards know that when a new post has been posted to a thread we've read, the subject line fonts go to dark from light. Since we are interested in the subject, as opposed a response to what "we" have posted, we click on the thread to read the new post...... so we run into your posts. I doubt anyone is "trying" to find them, I know I'm not.
Just one other point........ it's easy to be a "Monday morning quarterback" and to tell others what and how to do things with no skin in the game and no direct knowledge of playing the game. Some of your comments certainly have validity........but some of your solutions/demands that ebay "change" what they are doing according to what you think they should do, just doesn't work, at least on a short term basis. You extrapolate your wants/needs into generalities that you think apply to everyone.....while ebay has to look at the site as a whole, such as the GTC thing. It may be that they are wrong.......but they have the site knowledge that we, as individuals don't have. To be successful on ebay, whatever your personal definition of success is, means having to adapt to the changes Ebay makes...........
just my thoughts
I'm sure there are still some good Sellers and Buyers trying to make things work here, my comment was a generalization of what I'm seeing and also reading.
My thoughts, opinions and suggestions are shared by many that post here, so your comments are also directed towards a collective voice. My opinions are also based on many years here at eBay, my experiences, and a corporate background working in Silicon Valley and High Tech.

I have to say I find it very inconsiderate & unconstructive to impose your way of handling your Ebay business on another poster and imply that they should do the same. When a seller reaches out to share or announce that part of the system isnt working , in hopes that it might therefore be fixed, and that is an important function to them so be it. Not everyone choses or needs to follow a script of how they handle their access or connect to ebay data.
I, for one, appreciate the question or sale announcement coming into my email inbox on computer - so if I am on the phone with a client, working on a draft of an important contract, writing up an appraisal where I do not want my Ebay site open or listing items the alert that something has sold is very valuable to me as I might just have time to mail it for the client. Or I might be on the road on 95 at night on my long seasonal shop commute and a cell message comes from a potential buyer that needs help and I have been known to pull over in a service station to meet that need. Usually that helps make the sale . Now I dont even have to be logged onto Ebay somehow sales are dinging even if I am not . Certainly one can miss things if you dont check your email but it doesnt mean that it is not helpful, valuable or an important function of Ebay especially when, at times, the site itself could have issues.
This is to all on this thread -
I think the bigger picture here is that we need to be really listening to others, not dictating to them how they should run their ebay business or negating their feelings, notice that poster has not returned and has in effect felt rejection I am sure. Always defending ebay when it has serious issues and completely lowering your expectations when you have signed a contract, paying good money and should expect a reasonable functioning site , is in my opinion not helping the success of Ebay nor one another.
The only way to improve a business and a machine is to take it seriously, work on it, refine it, prioritize, be flexible and honest but have a goal of excellence not mediocrity. If you want to achieve 100% you shoot for 120%. If you only shoot for 100 % you may get 80% -and then if you lower yourself to 50 % you may get 25%. there are many analogies I could use but nothing improves unless you work at it collectively or at least get behind those that are trying - if you dont identify a problem it cant be fixed so in my book hiding them under a rug ain't fixing it and its a grave disservice to everyone
