Had difficulty accepting offer sent by seller

 Got an offer sent to me from a Seller. When I clicked on to review offer, Alert came up, was unable to buy item. Went to bids & offers, clicked on offer and the original listing was shown.

     Went to notifications click again on offer, original listing still came up.

 This is the original listing ^^^^.

I message Seller and told her also that perhaps it's a glitch.

     My account is all up to date, I frequently buy on offers sent and my Ebay app is current on my android cell.

     Never has this happened before, any clues?

I attempted to accept this offer and Alert and opps came across, nothing is showing up on my end, I didn't finish payment method either as it wouldn't let me continue.

Definitely a tech issue that occurred when you were trying to accept the offer. The system both recognized it and failed to recognize it at the same time. The process initiated but failed to complete.

That explains why you couldn't accept the offer a second time.

But it doesn't help you figure out whether this will just "go away" or if you're expected to complete the sale. Definitely a strange one.

Let us know what the seller says.

Are you able to accept the offer using a browser instead of the app?

No.

This offer does come up but it's disguised as the original listing.

In that case, the offer may have expired.

Re: Had difficulty accepting offer sent by seller

Screenshot indicates 10 hours remaining on the offer.

Instead of going through your notifications @silverstatetreasureboxes , did you check eBay messages for the offer and try to accept through that avenue?

@eburtonlab

I had to wait until thunderstorms eased up, now on my desktop, offer does not expire until 7:07pm pst. Same thing under bids & offers, offer shows up with $15.95 offer but when you click on it, it goes back to original price.

Re: Had difficulty accepting offer sent by seller

If you recall, I posted a problem issue with offers yesterday. My buyer said they could not access the discounted price for some reason. I had to lower the price on the regular listing and told her to just buy it outright from there.

Yep. I think that is what happened to my buyer yesterday. She could not get the discounted price. The offer had not expired it was sent the same day or day before.

@wastingtime101

No go, still the same thing. Poster @vintagecraze50 had an earlier post on selling page, same issue and I responded to it. There is definitely an issue going on.

Yes I read your thread and responded to it.

I've never had this happen before in all my ebay life!

Glitches to stop one from buying??? Oh the madness!!!!!

@silverstatetreasureboxes

This is not a resolution to the bug in the offer, just a possible method for getting the item. Can the buyer make a new offer back to the seller, rather than trying to accept the seller's offer? I browse with this account (get offers), but then make an offer back to the seller via my buying account.

Same thing under bids & offers, offer shows up with $15.95 offer but when you click on it, it goes back to original price.

If you follow the link to the listing using a desktop browser, if the offer is still available there should be a link in a blue banner to review and accept the offer.

I just accepted a seller offer this morning using a desktop browser, and was able to check out and pay successfully. I also checked to make sure the same offer was reflected through the app, and it was.

Offers can expire if the listing reaches the end of its monthly period and if the listing is automatically listed, but if that happens it should be reflected on the Bids & Offers page.

It is also possible to receive an offer on one account and try to purchase on another account which would cause the offer to not appear in the other account, but if you are going through the Bids & Offers page you must be in the correct account already, so that cannot be the problem in this case.

@shipscript

I can try again to message seller.

Boy, I hope this isn't a ongoing glitch, this is terrible and could cost folks money. Thanks for replying ship!

Re: Had difficulty accepting offer sent by seller

This is not likely to work @silverstatetreasureboxes , but what if you 'add to cart' -  does it show full price or offer price?

If you can't get it to work and you can't access the screen to send a counter offer (if seller even enabled counter offers) then the seller can either lower the price on the listing or use 'reply with offer' on the eBay message to send you a private offer. Hopefully the private offer wouldn't encounter the same issue, would prob be easier if seller just lowered the price for you.

Hey kyle@ebay - is there an open ticket on buyers not being able to access/accept seller initiated offers? Asking since a few people here are reporting it.
