Glitch - buyer can't pay

I got this message from a buyer today:

"I just won this postcard today but when I try to click on 'pay for purchase' it won't let me. I was notified that I won it but I don't know what to do about this."

Is anyone else having this problem?  Does anyone know how to fix this?

Glitch - buyer can't pay

I uncovered 2 other glitches while working on this one.  1) I sent the buyer an invoice with the following note:

Hi Louis, I'm sending this invoice, as maybe you'll be able to pay using it. If you still can't pay let me know and I'll call eBay to see how to fix this. Barb

It didn't show me that an apostrophe wasn't working and printing "" instead.

2) I did a Preview of the invoice.  The Preview didn't show the invoice as it is seen by the recipient.  For instance it did not show the "Pay Now" button.

Small errors such as these eventually erode confidence of buyers and sellers alike.

Glitch - buyer can't pay

I looked at several of your recent sales, and they were only allowing shipping to the USA.

This problem (buyer can't pay) is often caused because the buyer's primary shipping address (or the shipping address they want to use) is not within  the region that the seller will ship to. Are you blocking sales to buyers with primary shipping addresses that are not available to be shipped to?

If the buyer's shipping address is in the USA, then they may be trying to pay with a foreign credit card, if you are blocking payments received from foreign credit cards in your PayPal account.

Also, &#x27 is the HTML code for an apostrophe. HTML is the code that webpages are written in. That probably indicates that your browser is not correctly displaying the page.

Glitch - buyer can't pay

My buyer is in Illinois.  I don't accept credit card payments, just PayPal.  I assume it is a glitch that the buyer is unable to pay when clicking on the pay button.  My browser is Google Chrome.  I assume they are large enough to be able to display an apostrophe, so I'm not sure why the HTML code is showing instead.  Hopefully my buyer sees an apostrophe...  But thanks for your thoughful reply.

Glitch - buyer can't pay

I've sent the buyer several invoices with the Pay Now button.  The buyer still can't pay.  Here's the latest eBay message the buyer sent me:

"Dear somanypostcards,

I received another message from ebay that I had not paid but I have tried many times. A few times through you sending me a 'pay now' and it still won't get past the paypal site. I put in the $.36 and it all goes blank. I went through paypal and ebay and it said to go to my ebay but it isn't even in there. One email said that it couldn't tell if I was the winner or not so to go to my ebay-I did and it wouldn't go through. It either stops completely or goes blank again. If you have a P.O. box or such I can send you the $.36 or a check or whatever you want. Nothing else is working. I am sorry about this-there is nothing else I can try that I haven't tried multiple times."

I sent the buyer the postcard today for free as an apology for all the trouble.  I also lied and marked the item "Payment received" so eBay won't sent more messages to pay when the buyer can't pay.  This has been vexing and embarassing.
