Over the last approximately 10 days various options of the advanced search utility have been not working. Many things are wrong with it, but let me start with these:
- When you enter data in the "Exclude Words From Your Search" text box, they are ignored in the search results, so your results WILL contain the excluded words you entered.
- When you enter data in the "Enter Keywords or Item Number" text box (for example red blue) and select "all words any order", your search results display all items with red AND blue in the description. However, if you enter "red blue" in "Enter Keywords or Item Number" and select "any words any order" you still get red AND blue results, you should get red OR blue results. This is clearly an elementary programming problem.
- The "Sellers" section, when data is entered to select/exclude particular sellers will not work most of the time.
- When you enter data in the advanced search utility and click search, you should be able to fine tune your search with additional information from the left side of the search results page; however, when selecting these additional search features pieces of your original search suddenly disappear.
- When you enter data in the advanced search utility and click search, I used to be able to click advanced search to go back to my original search and all of my original search data would remain intacked so I could edit it. Now, all of my advanced search data is gone so I have to re-enter all of my search data again.
- None of my saved searches that have worked for over 18 years no longer work, that's sad.
There are many many more problems, and I could go on and on, but usually this is the responsibility of the QC Department. I read multiple posts stating various issues regarding the "Advanced search" utility having problems. Some people suggested using different browsers to correct the issues. In my knowledge of programming, different browsers will not correct these issues, most of these types of problems are the result of the database queries, which occur on the back end of the system not related to the browser you are using.
