Getting 'Access Denied' message as I try to block a buyer and add him to the Blocked buyer List

I attempted to block a buyer from buying from me and tried to add him to my Blocked Buyer List. I am getting Access Denied message.  What's happening? This has never happened before.  Is there a glitch with eBay today, 6/6/2021?? I experimented and tried to block the same Buyer I.d. on my 2nd eBay  acct and got the same message; as follows.

You don't have permission to access "www.ebay.com/bmgt/BuyerBlock " on this server.

"Access Denied" errors when trying to check out or pay usually indicate some sort of network error; I have not heard of that happening before when blocking a buyer, but it may be a similar sort of problem.

If you are using a VPN or "Disconnect", try disabling it.

If you are using a custom firewall, that may be causing problems.

Try blocking that buyer using your phone or laptop when not connected to your usual network wifi.

i've been getting the same error for about a week now.... im not disabling the firewall i've been running for 20 years just because some random guy on the internet seems to think the problems on my end.. this is obviously on ebay's end.. they may be taking it away from us.. of course, we are no longer allowed to call Ebay either and the chat bot is just that.. a bot.... excuse me while i talk to my wall.. i may get more results from it.. thanks for the great customer service ebay.

If you are getting an "access denied" error, you are not actually reaching eBay.

You may want to see if you get the same "access denied" message when using a different network, such as by using a phone or laptop when not connected to your usual WiFi. A problem with your firewall is only one possible cause out of many, but that is an easy thing for you to check by bypassing your firewall. If the problem is actually due to your IP-address being blacklisted by Akamai, you may be waiting a long time for eBay to fix things. Depending on why your IP-address might be blocked, you may be able to get around the block by simply changing your IP-address. Or the blacklist might be a sign of problems at your end.

You can try contacting eBay using the Help & Contact link or via social media, but the customer service reps are not trained to handle network troubleshooting. If you want to know why you are getting that error or how to get around it, you will likely have to diagnose some things yourself. You can start with the suggestions above.
