Free Shipping - NOT!

Time to fix the free shipping glitch I hear ocurring only on the android app.

Under "more like this" , hundreds or thousands of items appear to be free shipping when they are not.

This is deceptive and unfair to buyers and sellers and needs to be changed. Code monkeys is right. It has literally been years. Do I believe this is a hard fix.? Not on your life. Get on it ebay!!

brian@ebay  This also occurs when using a browser as well.  The items have local delivery enabled and when they are displayed in more like this the listing shows "Free Shipping".

brian@ebay  the problem is actually more prevasive in the apps, not just in the more like this, but even normal searches will eroneously display free shipping when local delivery is an option, not every time, but quite frequently.  

The shipping amount is also incorrect when you view an offer made by a buyer, the shipping price is for your local zone and not for the buyers zone.  Who knows what the buyer actually saw?

Does not happen in Firefox 3.6.24, Firefox 31, or Firefox 52 for that item 361570406073 no matter how I search.

Default sch search, forced dsc search, best match, lowest price, nearest, various forced filters, no filters, opposite coast zip code, whatever.

The correct shipping amount appears in the search results in all cases.


[Informational aside that has nothing to do with the free shipping display issue: that listing description is very broken in Firefox 3.6.24 due to sellers use of images (with odd alt attributes) hosted on an external server that requires minimum TLS 1.1 (I tested it), which eBay does not require for pretty much anything but payment/checkout. Firefox 3.6.24 only does TLS1.0, thus the images don't load, and the non-standard img alt attribute text displays instead in a mangled layout. A non-issue for most, but does mess the listing description up badly for the tiny minority using really old browsers to shop. Lowest common denominator.]

Been like this forever!  Desktop Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Ick Edge.

While I'm here, I wish that all sellers with clothing listings would provide basic measurements in their description.  

I also wish that sellers who smoke where their merchandise is stored would mention that in their listing.

Bear, i wouldn't say you are being too picky. Cigarette smoke can aggravate sinus, and allergies in some and may not even wash out easily. This coming from a smoker.
