Recently I sold an item on eBay that was posted as "For Parts or Not Working" Also, No Returns! For some reason eBay doesn't seem to think that protecting their sellers from fraudulent buyers is important. After the buyer received the part, he sent a message thru eBay to me stating " if you take this item back I will not leave Negative feedback for you! Now, that is feedback extortion according to ebays rules! So when I refused to take the item back due to it being sold for parts or not working, he went ahead and gave me a negative feedback rating. After contacting eBay to ask if they would remove the feedback, they said they couldn't because the buyer opened a case for return! The case for return only allowed for me to take the item back, or offer him a partial refund and let him keep the item. So, I ask all of you sellers out there, why would eBay have a category" For Parts or not working" . By the way the buyer wanted to return the part stating this item doesn't work! Now, correct me if I am wrong but, isn't that the category I placed it in !!! I have noticed over the past 10 years that eBay doesn't do anything to protect their sellers, you know, those of us whom they make their money from! Well, for me after 24 years on eBay, I have decided to get out and move my business elsewhere! I have noticed that their shoppers have diminished. I am getting very few lookers anymore compared to 5 years ago. Maybe Facebook Marketplace is the way to go, it appears they have a lot more traffic. Anyone else have this kind of problem with eBay. Sellers ??????

I have no idea why eBay has such a category. But I can tell you buyers do not read anything through.
But since your buyer opened a return as defective or not working. You have a choice to make.
Is the item worth it to you to have back? If yes accept the return, issue the return label. Refund when the item is returned.
If you don't care to have the item back then refund.
Either way you chose you may be able to have the negative removed once the return closes.
