Featured items not showing in my store

Pardon me if this is a common question, this is my first time here.... 

When looking at my store, I have 3 sections:

Featured Categories

Featured Items 

Clickable Banner

Everything is showing except my "Featured Items" Why and how do we fix this?

Featured items are showing.

They are not a 'category'; the items in your categories are in the drop-down on the upper left; and are categories with nothing stating 'featured items'.
