Estimated delivery off by weeks in every listing

The estimated delivery times are way off on all of my listings. I offer one day handling and it's showing packages shipped with USPS Ground Advantage taking weeks to arrive to the same state that I'm in. This is on all of my listings. I've contacted them multiple times and they have not fixed it. Is anyone else having this issue?

Re: Estimated delivery off by weeks in every listing

I talked about this last week. Nothing solved. On my items I have different delivering times...some by 2 weeks by mailing a standard envelope in the USA. And it has nothing to do with USPS Ground Advantage. I think it has to do with our postings in different times of some months and using maybe a draft posting long ago and lately.

Re: Estimated delivery off by weeks in every listing

One of the customer service people to me to switch to Priority mail that Ground Advantage was too slow. I changed one of my listings to see if it would help and it actually increased the delivery estimate by 4 days. Something is very wrong with the delivery estimates. Thank you for responding.

Re: Estimated delivery off by weeks in every listing

I have noticed when printing shipping labels - the delivery deadline date is often closer than the estimated delivery window when using USPS labels.

For instance, I print a label with the expected date as 9/1 and buyer selected USPS priority. When I select priority the estimated deliver date is 8/31 - 9/2

Apparently, eBay is telling the customer they can expect their package before the USPS is actually able to deliver it. I ship next day, so it's not a handling time issue.

Yeah, there's something odd there @flokisfinds

First check your Orders page in Seller Hub - do you see "ship by" dates based on 1 biz day handling or do you see extended "ship by" dates?

https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord

If you see extended ship by dates, the next step is go this page and see if you have M-F set as working days:

https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf

Go to Set same business day handling times > Edit

Another seller had this problem last week and based on the update provided, they had only one day set as a working day which caused the issue with extended ship by dates.

I checked several of your listings last week and several more today. I'm not seeing an issue with extended delivery dates on any of them. All of the dates I'm seeing are in line with your 5 biz day handling time and shipping service offered on the listing.

I asked last week @12345jamesstamps , but can you provide some item numbers?

Re: Estimated delivery off by weeks in every listing

I had this happen to me several weeks ago!  Here's what I did to solve it:

Go into your "shipping preferences" ( Not shipping policies -- where one actually specifies their handling time).   Go to "Set same business day handling times" .   Once you open it by choosing to edit, you will see "Set your working days and cut-offs for same day dispatch" .   You have to set your working days & cut off time ( when you stop working and go to bed or have a drink in this case!) : Mon- Sun It is then when your handling time will be based on that.   I chose everday but Sunday w/ 2 days handling time -- so items purchased on Sunday don't have to be shipped until Weds. Now all my listings and everything is back to normal.

I had never done anything with "working days " since I don't ship same day.   Approx. 6 wks. ago all my listing's  "ship by" dates changed from 2 days to 15.  It now seems for some sellers, regardles if you  offer  same day ship shipping, you must check off these working days.

Re: Estimated delivery off by weeks in every listing

A shortcut:

My eBay > Account > Selling > Shipping Preferences > Set same business day handling times ( choose to edit) > choose working days > choose time zone

It's not intuitive -- why aren't working days to be set up under business policies?  It would be much easier on sellers it "shipping preferences" were streamlined with shipping policies under business policies.    For some sellers, regardles if you  offer  same day ship shipping, you must go in and edit  "Set same business day handling times"

Hope this helps!

Re: Estimated delivery off by weeks in every listing

Thanks for the tips. I already had my working days set up but I went and added Sunday and Saturday and extended the hours just to see if it helped. Unfortunately, it didn't fix the inflated shipping estimate. I did switch a Priority listing back to Ground Advantage and a few minutes later is had the appropriate delivery estimate. Something very odd is going on.

Re: Estimated delivery off by weeks in every listing

I just used bulk editing and changed all of my listings to Priority and then changed them back to USPS Ground Advantage and they seem to have the correct delivery estimates now. I don't know if that will be a different story tomorrow, but it seems fixed for now. I don't know if that will help anyone else but it's worth a shot if you are having the same issue.

Re: Estimated delivery off by weeks in every listing

Hello,

266177223003 & 266090153658 which if purchased today Sept 9 - Sep 13

So I looked at this one: 266183118310 which if purchased today Sep 5 - Sep 9

I only looked at 3 to give some idea.

I don't know what bought the changes in dates.

Here's the facts now...I sold only 2 items in 4 days which is really weird.

I am treating this as a vacation and just going to let it go.

Regards,

James

Thanks, it's odd that the parameters are the same on each listing, but the EDD is off by a couple days.

You have a 5 biz day handling time. Factoring in Labor Day, anything purchased today has to ship by Sep 7. Based on USPS official delivery times estimated at 2-5 biz days, that puts EDD at Sep 11 - Sep 14

With that info, the dates on your listings are not necessarily wrong with the parameters you're using, but they are bumped forward a couple days, probably based on you historically shipping quicker than 5 days.

The odd part to me is the listings show slightly different EDDs even though the handling time and shipping service are the same. It's like the listings are looking at different historical handling times.

The dates being different between the listings is odd, but I don't see anything wrong in the sense of something being pushed out 2 weeks. The EDDs are consistent with your 5 biz day handling and shipping First Class Mail.

I'd remove Sat/Sun as working days just to make sure it doesn't cause any unintended side effects @flokisfinds .

Not sure what happened with your listings, but glad to hear the bulk edit function and switching between services worked as a reset and brought your EDDs back to normal. If the issue pops up again let us know.

Thanks! I hope the estimated delivery dates are now fixed for good. I'm afraid to check in on them later. Fingers crossed.
