Ebay app is not comparible with my ipad

I have a 3rd generation ipad model MC707B/A, running IOS 9.3.5, which is as high as I can go on this device. Recently the ebay app stopped working, freezing up or giving error messages every time I used it. I deleted the app and tried to reload it from the app store, but I get the message 'Unable to purchase - "buy, sell and save with ebay" is not compatible with this ipad'.

I have viewed earlier community posts on this subject from over a year ago, and tried following the links, but these point to the same app version.

can anybody help get me my ebay app back, please?

i've looked at the ios link you provided.

it does appear rhat ebay have abandoned pre-ios10 users, who now have to rely on the clunky safari version.

what a pity that ebay (and other app providers) could not have kept the old pre-ios10 app for those of us dinosaurs who don't want to replace their working hardware for the latest fad. Even an unsupported form would be better than nothing.
