EBay website not working properly for over 10 years

I reported this issue many times and called customer support as well.

With google chrome, most listings from sellers I like are not appearing when I click on their shop.

If I click on the items for sale after clicking on the seller name, I get ZERO results.

Then if I use internet explorer I get all the listings.

Basically the only solution at this point is shopping elsewhere where Chinese sellers set up their own websites and you can actually see the items they have for sale, UNLIKE ON EBAY.

I notice you are registered in Canada. Are you searching on ebay.com or ebay.ca?

If a seller does not ship to your location, you will likely not be able to see their items in a default search. If you do manage to find one of their items by entering the item number directly, their other items may not be viewable due to your shipping location.

Do you have more than one address that you use for calculating shipping? Is it possible that the address you last used in your Chrome browser is different from the address you last used in your Explorer browser?

It is certainly possible that there is something wrong with eBay, there are many things wrong with eBay. And there are certain locations that are problematic for searches recently (Hawaii, Alaska, US Territories/military APO, India), but I have not heard of any issues specifically involving Canada.

Re: EBay website not working properly for over 10 years

This doesn't surprise me at all.  There are many things not working on the eBay site daily and for a long time.

This particular issue, if happening with all Chrome users, is very concerning as it will result in lost sales.  I would be interested to see screenshots if possible to post here?

Re: EBay website not working properly for over 10 years

I had printscreens but now it's even worse than before.

We don't have access to items in Chinese stores anymore if they didn't specifically added them to the right country.

For example, I am not able to see an item if I don't have the correct url, .ca .com, .co.uk, etc.

We had access before, at least with internet explorer.

My advice to sellers is to start their own website or go to Aliexpress instead.

Re: EBay website not working properly for over 10 years

The first 2 prinstcreen are from chrome, the last is from internet explorer, where you can see the items for sale.

So basically ebay doesn't work on chrome.

The other thing is that this seller has over a thousand items for sale, but we can't see those because they are on co.uk store (but can ship worldwide).

Ebay refuse to repair their website to also work on chrome, are they just lazy or what ?

I pointed out this problem several years ago and called them a few times.

Are you sure that you are signed in and using the same default shipping country and postal code in both Chrome and Explorer? Check the "shipping and payments" tab in one of the items that you can see in each browser. If they are not the same, that might account for why you can see some items in one browser and not the other.

If we are looking at the same 177-feedback seller, I can see 1831 items for sale in Chrome, Edge and Firefox.

eBay's site has many issues, but I am not sure that this one is one of them.

Re: EBay website not working properly for over 10 years

It's not the same seller, but it could also be because of different geographic location that ebay works on your computer.

The items are available to ship to my address if I find them by another method, for example if I paste the link from internet explorer to google chrome, the item will appear and then I can buy it.

It's not the same seller, but it could also be because of different geographic location that ebay works on your computer.

It is possible that there is a real-geographic location issue (as opposed to an apparent-geographic location, which is what I was referring to earlier). I think that I recall a user having trouble changing eBay's default language and currency, and that it appeared that eBay was using the user's actual physical location (based on IP-address, perhaps?) to determine those things, rather than the location that the user had specified in their account or searches.

Unfortunately if that is the problem, it is difficult to diagnose without changing actual locations.

The only suggestion I can make in that situation, is that if one particular browser or eBay site (.com, .ca or co.uk) provides consistently better results for you, and you cannot find any setting or difference on your end that would account for the difference, then use whichever combination you find works best. It sounds like that is what you are already doing in any event.

Re: EBay website not working properly for over 10 years

Thanks for the screenshots!  This is really concerning if this is what's happening for you and other Chrome users.

While many of us using Internet Explorer can't sign-in to eBay at the Home Page, due to a Script Error caused by eBay and not resolved for over 1 month, you (and I assume others) can't see the listings in Chrome.  I've also seen other posts here with concerns regarding viewing issues in Chrome.

Have you contacted eBay Customer Support (which I suggest you do)?

Re: EBay website not working properly for over 10 years

The only solution I have right now is to use internet explorer, then change the url to .com, .co.uk, .ca, try each one...

That's the only way to be able to see all the items from a particular seller.

On chrome it just doesn't work with most sellers only displaying a fraction of their items.

I remember having this problem since at least 2014. One time I had bought an item from a seller, but Ebay didn't allow me to see the item in the seller store a few week later, when I wanted to order another one. I had to search in my buying history to be able to find it, then I was able to order it again.

Yes I was able to call them twice, (very difficult to find their phone number by the way) over the past two years.

Re: EBay website not working properly for over 10 years

Having the same issue with Chrome but not always, so i can't identify the cause of it. I am having some specific artist on the watch so i get notifications by mail on new listings. When i follow the link on the mail i can see the listings but when i go and see other items of the seller i get the same error like you, 0 results. If i open on Safari on my mobile all works fine and the paradox is that it works on Chrome for mobile also...In other words, is a mess and sellers and eBay are losing buyers and money.
