My somewhat repetitious report on the dead link in listings for sales........I reported at/since the last Ebay Live in Las Vegas.........3 yrs?
Note that the OPTION to show that link appears on the Manage My store/Listing Frame page
I presently have 2 items on sale til 10/8..........and will extend that if necessary to help fix the problem if anyone will actually look at it..........here is a link to one of the items on sale
https://www.ebay.com/itm/113637653427?hash=item1a7554fbb3:g:bnMAAOSwGZxbabjz
Personally, I think that "Sale" link should be larger........more prominent in order to entice people to check what's on sale and it should be on the Store Landing Page (where people end up if they click on the store link). It seems silly not to have a Sale sign in a Store..........
Could you get this reported ? Thanks.

velvet@ebay Thanks for your help and information........... Better half and I have been trading offers and we're seeing no repeat of the message...... I'm going to pass right now on setting up an experiment....we'll send out some offers to "real" watchers, lol, and see if we get any kickback on those..... and I'll be watching on the board for any reports..... Hard thing is, of course, that sellers don't know unless they get a report from a buyer or they get an out of the blue offer that has the "can't ship message".
Thanks again.......
I totally understand @dhbookds! If you or anyone else have buyers reach out though, try to get that info and tag me so I can add to the ticket and hopefully at some point a fix can be found for whatever is causing this strange, sporadic error.

Frankly, a test should be done..........but I don't understand why it isn't done by ebay techs........ seems like they could figure a way to place 1000 things on a watch list........from a 1000 different sellers.........or 10,000, from sellers who actually send offers. That would give them much better data than trying to get 10-15 people to test it and then try to report it........ we don't know "how" sporadic it is......... We (I) know I received it 3x , once with the offer without being on a watch list, once customer received it being sent an offer from his watch on my items, once I received it after putting a watch on Better Half's item, ebay received it once after watching one of my items, but didn't receive it on the 2nd item they watched.

odd thing............I got the idea of posting on the buyer board to see if anyone would respond........got a reply from someone who sounds like, but not id'd as, an ebay employee who apologizes and says it's fixed....
would sure relieve my mind, if so.........
know you are sick of this, but thought you might be interested.

Hey @dhbookds! I'll have to look into this. I'm sending out some emails and I'll let you know what I find. Thanks!

Ok @dhbookds, I have great news! That was an employee and we're working with them to get them a posting ID that verifies they're an employee. They were just excited to let everyone know a fix had been found.
The best part, is that they did in fact implement a fix!!! There's still a chance a buyer will see a heads up, but it should only be for someone who really doesn't meet the sellers requirements. There is talk of changing the message as well, so if something similar were to happen going forward, a potential buyer wouldn't be "scared" off and not accept the offer when they could accept it.
I'm happy this has been resolved and I'm sorry again about any confusion in that other thread!

Hello @dhbookds! I see what you mean. I was taken to your store and then had to refine that search by sale items to see the two on sale. I've filed a ticket and we'll see what they come back with.
A buddy of mine had the same problem and I found your post @dhbookds. Since you said you've been reporting this for 3 years (wow), I did some digging on this through Google and found an old post from Brian at eBay. He said:
"The new store format doesn't currently support a "Items on Sale" feature which is why the link in the listing frame isn't working. The listing frame was designed during the old store format days and I'm guessing the 'Items On Sale' link was overlooked in the transition to the new store format. I'll bring this up with the teams involved."
Apparently the teams involved never saw fit to either fix the link or remove the link. Does that history help velvet@ebay?
I think this is never going to be fixed as part of the old format because the option to display sale items is in the listing frame control which is part of the ancient manage store page. eBay isn't fixing that stuff any more. They're re-doing it all instead (and moving like molasses in Winter).
I think if we're lucky, eBay will make more store updates which will include by default fixes to some of this old stuff. There was a problem with store categories where sellers couldn't add/remove/delete for a year. When eBay finally rolled out a new page to manage store categories a few months ago, that problem was resolved.
Velvet, could you push the stores team to include a functional sales & promotions link when they update the listings frame section of managing stores? Since we now have more than just sales - we also have order and shipping discount promotions - eBay should be updating the link to show all of a seller's promotions and markdowns. My 2 cents for ya.

Thanks for the additional insight @wastingtime101! I've followed up to that team with this info and we'll have to see what happens. Hopefully good things!!!

Could you try to get some info from the stores team on when we'll see more of the features on the old manage store page roll out with updates (the same way they did with categories earlier this year)? Even if it's a really broad timeline like, "we hope to meet a release goal by the third quarter of 2022 for updating the listing frame control settings," that info would be great. velvet@ebay
