DROPPED SHIPPED FROM AMAZON

I purchased an item on ebay. It did not come from the location the seller listed in the listing. One of the reasons I purchased it was the location. It came dropped shipped via Amazon from a great distance further away and arrived very late.  I had to return it. It had to go back via UPS who stated with the new ebay/amazon system you do not get a tracking number, just a transaction number. Supposedly it will just show up when it reaches Amazon, to call amazon and ebay myself if it doesn't show up in 2 days. They had a huge bag of returns they just throw it into. It does not show as shipped in my return details. So as far as eBay is concerned, I have not shipped it to return yet. I have been unable to get eBay to respond about it. The seller is completely uncommunicative. Seller gave my personal info to amazon and  I got a text from them that says my refund will go back to my credit card!  If I wanted amazon to have my personal info, I would have purchased from amazon.  Glad it wasn't a real expensive item as I might get skunked. Looks like another real mess has been created.

It sounds like you used Amazon's return system. This is a problem since you did not order from Amazon, the seller did. The credit card Amazon will refund will be your seller's (or whoever's credit card the seller used, not yours).

If you want to return something through eBay, you must use eBay's return system. That means get a prepaid shipping label through eBay, so eBay can track the return and you can ask eBay to step in and refund you if the seller does not.

There is no Ebay/Amazon system.

On Ebay, it's only the Ebay system.

Did you file for a return through Ebay or just shipped it back to Amazon?

You need to report the seller for dropshipping from Amazon.

This is a chronic problem that I see and nothing is done about it. Some people don’t want to buy from Amazon for many reason. This happened to me once about 15 years ago and I was not happy. Don’t buy from these people. It is pretty easy to tell a drop-shipper as they won’t have any photos they took, the price is usually higher, and you can read their feedback.  I would leave appropriate feedback, report them to eBay, and try and be careful of these sellers. 

I had a customer ask me the location of a product I was selling and I told him it was in my house. He then bought it shortly and I shipped the same day. These people hurt our business.

NO! The return was done thru ebay. The label came thru ebay. It shows in my account, just not as shipped. This is exactly what I mean by a mess.

You ordered from an eBay seller.

The purchase arrived late.

You opened an eBay Claim -- I assume as Not As Described (the problem being that it was late).

EBay gave you a Return Shipping Label.

The address on the RSL was an AZ depot.

Not the address of the seller.

You have been told that the tracking number (if any) will not show Delivery to the AZ depot.

Without Proof of Delivery, will you be refunded?

Is that the problem?

Seller gave my personal info to amazon and I got a text from them that says my refund will go back to my credit card!

There are two reasons the seller may have been using AZ.

The bad one is that they are dropshipping* from there, and that could mean that you only are refunded what AZ was paid for the item-- not the purchase price +shipping that you paid the seller.

The other is that the seller uses AZ as their "warehouse" and shipper, but that they own the goods personally. This is better for you, since it means the seller would be refunding you in full.

*They buy on AZ and give your address. The seller pockets the difference in price.

Can you go into the return and add the tracking number that was on the label? (if a label was created, it should have a tracking number regardless if it was a 'return' or not)

The label ebay sent (which I can still see in my account and print again if I wanted to) was a QR code. No box or label, no actual return address shown,  just take to UPS. All I got was a receipt with a very long transaction code, no actual tracking.  So I have no idea where it went , just back to amazon was what the UPS clerk said. I have no idea why I got a text from Amazon or even if it was a legit text. Th only way they got my cell number was if the seller gave it to them! As I said, it's a mess!

All I got was a very long transaction number on the receipt. It is NOT a tracking number.  UPS insisted that's how they're handling the literally thousands of  ebay/amazon returns now. I guess I'll be calling ebay, amazon and then my credit card if necessary. I may sell a few things here, but again another reason not to buy again from ebay. smh

After more than 20 years off and on with ebay, I'm all too familiar with ebay reps. I've already done all that. If I get more run around, I'll  just go to my credit card company. I stopped buying here sometime ago but decided to give it a go again. I may still sell occasionally here, but last time buying for sure.

I'd assume that the system works, since handling complaints when it doesn't would cost even more that refunds.

Won't do any good to call Amazon, it's between you, the seller and Ebay.

The tracking number should be in that long transaction number.
