Not necessarily an ebay tech issue, but more a personal one. I use an 'older' chromebook when i "vacation" (it has all my usual routine stuff on it....email client, ebay, facebook, etc.....)
I am just double checking current passwords, etc...and I am unable to "switch account" or "sign out" from the top left Hi XXXX drop down. It does not do anything, where the drop down would offer "Sign Out" or "Account Settings".....I am using the chrome browser, it does not support flash or java....is that why and is there a solution to get that link working so I can sign out and switch accounts?

Try using another browser altogether to sign in to a different eBay account, preferably one that supports JavaScript. If you do not have another browser, you may be able to install one and still continue to use Chrome with your current account, though you may run into issues making purchases or using certain other features if your version of Chrome is too old.
One benefit to using two browsers at the same time is that you can stay signed in to each eBay account and easily switch between them by switching browsers.
It might also be worth trying to sign in to another eBay account using an incognito browser window in Chrome.
I had an old Chromebook many years ago, but stopped using it when I was no longer able to install a new enough browser to use with many modern web sites.

Thanks..I never thought of the incognito thing....that did work, BUT
right off the bat I am getting the "Pardon Our Interruption" Error Page before the hub even loads...
(thinks I am a bot preventing Java Script from running)
I was having problems downloading FF earlier, but I will try it again....otherwise, I may have to get of the my cheapskate mode and get something that works....(i loved this little chromebook for portability)

eBay uses Captcha and bot detection which both use JavaScript; if your browser does not support JavaScript or if scripts are being blocked, you will have problems signing in to eBay or staying signed in, unfortunately.
If your Chrome OS is modern enough (x86 based Chromebook running Chrome OS 80 or later), you may be able to install a Firefox app:
