Change with scanner service?

Happy Saturday all,

I noticed this morning while trying to process a lot of several books that the scanning feature has tweaked some (Android, 6.98.0.6) The barcode scanner rarely scanns the barcodes, and when it does it will wildly misinterpret them. It will read an ISBN string such as 978590 as 174239, making it entirely useless for barcodes as a whole. The images below show the new scanner system I am now seeing

I have no idea how it made all that space, nor was I aware that it had. Im sorry I dont know how to fix it

Although the bar code scanner seems to be working for me, others are apparently experiencing similar issues.
