Ebay barcode scanner stopped working today March 1 2023

I have a Motorola Moto g stylus 2022 phone. The ebay app scanner was working fine until today. Now it just does not do anything when trying to scan. Something changed in the ebay app as it was working fine the last time I used it 2 days ago. Anyone else having the same problem?

I have a 2021 Moto g power, and the bar code reader seems to be working for me.

It does not work with every bar code, but worked with several items on my desk.

Make sure you have the latest version of the app: 6.98.0.6.

Thanks for responding. Yes I have that version and in fact deleted and installed the app but as I mentioned, it just starting failing march 1, It was working fine prior. Now it just doesn't respond no matter what I scan.

I have the same phone (moto g stylus 2022) and the same problem. The barcode scanner comes up but any barcode you put on screen doesn't scan. It doesn't appear to even attempt to scan. It will just sit there.

Thank you for confirming. I just had ebay support call me (because you can't call them) and gave them the info. They said no one else reported this so I had them open a ticket for tech support. I will let you know if they respond soon. The customer service person said if it is not resolved in 3 days call back.

I'm having the same problem with my Google Pixel 7. Did uninstall and re-install twice and nothing was fixed. Totally frustrating. Any other ideas?

I suggest to open a ticket with ebay. The more people complain, the faster it will be resolved. You can have them call you here:

Same phone and same problem here also. I texted with eBay support about it on March 6th and they told me no one else has made any reports about a problem with the barcode scanner either. Makes me think they tell everyone that. Very frustrating to type in all the barcodes.

My eBay app updated over the week, and I too now have a fully unfunctional barcode scanner.  

Moto g9 play on Android 11 here.

EBAY fixed the problem. Reinstall the app and version 6.101.0.5 will be the latest and the barcode scan now works.

I have the same phone, same exact problem that started at the same time. I too tried all the same troubleshooting you did and also deleted and reinstalled the app, still no response from the barcode reader.
