Cannot open and read Seller Update downloads!!

I have complained about this for the past 2 years!

Seller Updates - Item Specifics - click on any Download Details link - download into my desktop computer running Chrome browser - open download to nothing but gobblygook nonsense.

How many more years before ALL sellers are able to simply read this important information?????

Which links in particular are giving you problems?

Some links are XLSX spreadsheet files, and some are PDF files. Make sure you have an appropriate spreadsheet or PDF reader selected to open each type. Try right clicking on the file and choose "Open with..." to change your default option.

Open Office or Microsoft Office (or Excel) will open spreadsheet files.

Adobe Acrobat Reader will open PDF files.
