I don't think it's an error, it may be intentional on eBay's part - country addresses can't be changed with the new Managed Payments system.
Have you spoken with an eBay rep about it - and what did they tell you?

Spoke to them back in Jan already. They said it was a technical fault and they were looking into it. We all know what has been going on after half a year passed.

Are changes to registered country addresses no longer allowed under the new system- I thought the only option now is to open a new account with the new country address?
@weichai - I just realized your OP is from January, sorry - it got bumped up with the latest reply.
Hopefully eBay team will be able to answer when they return on Monday or later.

Hi @ferncliff-39 and @weichai! @ferncliff-39 is correct, members are no longer able to update the registered country. It is a result of our managing payments now. If you move to a new country, or want an account registered to a different site, then a new account would need to be created.

So let me get this... your solution is to tell customers they have to start a new account... and lose all their history... all the account information... great solution... doesn't ebay consider their customers even a little bit in the decision make... because as far as i can tell... EDAY DOESN'T!!!!!

@housekeith - Velvet is no longer on these boards, but yes, that is how it works under the new Managed Payments system on eBay unfortunately. No one is happy about it but there doesn't seem to be any other option.
Did you live in and have a registered address in China, or is that an account country change not made by you (ie hacked), which has happened to some others. That's a different scenario.

Same issue here. I moved between countries and changed my addresses during my stays.
Solution told by an eBay representative "Mark" via livechat is to open a new account.
This solution is so great that I'm forced to build all my positive feedbacks and history from scratch.
eBay team. I'm impressed.

So to delete all existing data and account is the solution. Guess the system will then complain that there already is an account with my email. I cannot currently even get to be charged in Euros even if I live in EU due to my old address. This is extremely poor service from ebay

As Velvet said..under the new Managed Payment system you can't simply change your registration country. You need to open a new account.
Get a new email account so you can open another eBay account. Very easy simple solution.
