Can't change my phone number on file

Does anyone else have this problem? Here's what I see. Been trying to do this for the last week or so as my current phone number on file is dead. Can someone humor me and try it themselves and tell me what you see? Change it back to your original if you were successful. I currently don't get any calls ebay makes to me now.

I don't know if it still works, but upthread another poster was able to update their phone number using the app so if either of you has that option you may want to try it.

Hi @wastingtime101! This is no longer an issue and there's no open ticket. I know some in the UK are running info issues due to some new requirements that have gone through but that's not really an issue with updating a phone number and more of one where they can't verify their account due to an old number being on file. 

It sounds like @nds93 was able to update their number on the app but @rogtho-llgbpki7 is still running into issues. I assume you can sign into the account right @rogtho-llgbpki7? You just can't get the phone number to update? What happens when you try to update it? A screen shot would be helpful in case I need to open a ticket for you.

Thanks velvet@ebay - looks like @rogtho-llgbpki7 is using eBay.ca and maybe you could help them delete their screenshot (because it shows their phone number) after you save the image for the tech ticket.

@wastingtime101 I'll let the mods know to remove the screen shot. It also gives a 2FA error message though. Do you have 2FA set up @rogtho-llgbpki7?

That's the whole point. I have the 2fa setup on my old cell phone, but I am being forced to replace it soon with my new cell phone. I have tried removing the 2fa, and then change my number and it goes all the way through even to the point of getting a 2fa passcode sent to my new phone during veirfication, but same error code when I try to save and complete the page abd it reverts back to old phone number. I ahve limited access right now as I am in the field working via my cell. By end of week Ill be back in a position to test more fully and provide all the screen shots needed

I am having this issue today in the U.S.   Trying to sell an item and it wants me to update and verify the phone #.  Tried updating the cell # and requested a text, then tried requesting a call.  Then, also tried requesting a call on the landline.  Every time I get this message;  "Something went wrong. Check everything is right below."  It won't work.  Tried a dozen times with two different numbers (cell and landline).  Please open a ticket again.

This issue seems to have been dragging out for over a year and a half.  So, people who can't update the number can't sell items.  And, Ebay loses money.  This is basic functionality failure.

I was able to finally get it to update by going into the Security setting to do it there.  It was not working in the prompts when trying to post a sell item.  But, seems to be working now after updating it first in the Security account settings.
