My buyer sent me an eBay message regarding an order she had just placed. The message contained a reference photo of the order and the total is incorrect. The first screenshot is from the message showing an incorrect order total and the second screenshot shows the correct order total from the order details page.
brian@ebay would you kindly get this reported. Thank You.

@mcdougle4248 _ I noticed the same thing and was told that it only shows to us as the seller, the buyer is still shown the actual amount they paid.
I still don't really like it, and hope they consider changing it for reasons mentioned in my post about it, but at least I think we don't have to worry about what the buyer is seeing.

Upon further investigation the $$ amount shown in the first screenshot is actually my net after fees and taxes removed. Is that what the buyer is really seeing, my net?

I read another recent post where a seller was posting about the same problem. eBay was showing the buyer how much the seller was getting.
Not sure if you can search to locate that one.

Thank you. Yes, I remember seeing that post too, but I can't find it. If you happen to come across the post would you please tag me?

Thank you for the link to your post. I agree, I don't like it either. If the buyer does not see the same thing it's not that big of a deal, I guess 🙃

@mcdougle4248 it looks like @valueaddedresource shared a link that answers this question, but just so it's posted in this thread too I will say that the buyer sees their total purchase price.

@Anonymous
Am I missing something in the accepted solution?
If you follow the link to the thread that is given as the solution, the last message from charles_payments is:
"I'm still working on sorting this out. But wanted to say I still am on it."
If you follow either thread, you find multiple assertions that a buyer contacted the seller after seeing the seller's net in a message from eBay. The accepted solution seems reassuring, but does not (?) explain why multiple buyers received an eBay message quoting the seller's net.

@argy_eyes - to clear up any confusion, in my case the buyer did not say they saw that pricing in a message.
They initiated contact and sent me a message that was just a question about the product they had purchased. While reading that message, I just happened to notice that at the bottom where it shows the details of the item/order, the pricing I (the seller) was seeing didn't match up to what we normally sell that item for.
Further research made me realize it was my net after selling fees, which lead to my concern that the buyer might have seen that as well - but again, that was not something stated by the buyer, it was just me wondering if they could see the same thing I was seeing.
Brian and Charles said that what I was seeing would only be visible to the seller, but in the buyer's messages they would see the proper amount they actually paid reflected there.
I believe @mcdougle4248 had the same situation - buyer messaged about something else (just a question about the item/order), not specifically about seeing the seller's net amount anywhere.
As far as what Charles was still looking into - it was just our questions about whether or not that was working as intended (eBay meant to display the net amount to the seller in that situation) or if it was on oversight that needed to be corrected.

I decided to do a little test. I sent a seller that I had a recent transaction with a message. As you can see from my screenshots below of my order and messages with the seller the NET AMOUNT of the sale is in fact shown to the buyer, which in this case is me.
This is a new development, as I was able to go into my messages and find a message from one of my buyers that was sent to me about two weeks ago and that message is showing the buyer paid amount on the order referenced in the message.
Can something be done about this?

Thanks for confirming that @mcdougle4248 . It's not what I wanted to hear, and it pretty much blows everything I just told @argy_eyes out of the water, but thanks for letting me know any way. lol
Hopefully brian@ebay and @Anonymous can shed some more light on this very soon. If it is showing to buyers, that is not good for several reasons and needs to be fixed ASAP.

I am sorry, I meant to do that little test earlier and forgot all about it until I saw the notification bell and your response. At least we now know there is a problem...we can add to the list lol

@mcdougle4248 - no need to apologize, we're all just trying to make sense out of all of this the best we can, when we can. 😊 I appreciate you doing the test and letting us know your results.
