Running Safari 14.1.2, Mojave OS on a Mac. Problem started about 3 days ago.
Cursor is not changing to hand over buttons on listing pages, can't change pics or seller options (buy 1, buy 2, buy 3), but works correctly on underlined links, Similar Items. All buttons/links within my Summary page work.
Cleared caches, cookies and cruft multiple times, no extensions or browser add-ons. Restart app, restart machine = no change. Nothing changed since all was functional a few days ago.

Users of OS X (Mac OS 10 point something) seem to be having problems lately. Do you have have any devices using different operating systems you can use?

No, all Macs here. Mojave is 10.14, last of OSX is 10.15 Catalina.
Dunno who decided we need a new OS every six months, but Mojave is currently five versions back from latest OS (and fully updated). Some of us have good reason for sticking with an older OS, BTW.
Odd that the buttons on Summary page work as they should, but not on individual listing pages. The 'Add to Watchlist' button doesn't work, so items can't be transferred to Summary page.
This is bound to save me some money at least.....

Understood. I have some old Windows XP machines I still use for various tasks that are optimized for that, though I am not using those machines for online commerce, and I am not surprised when I can't install the latest version of a browser or when all sorts of modern web pages suddenly don't act the way they are supposed to.

Can you add items to your Watch List directly from the search results page? Or using the text link in the upper right corner of an item listing (if it still appears there, just below the Advanced Search link)?
You may also have problems bidding or buying, though, if recent complaints are any indication.
Can you add items to your Watch List using your phone? Or complete purchases that way?

I don't think it's an OS problem. I have OS 10 and OS 11 on different computers, and ebay doesn't work on either.
Someone i know has OS 11 as well, but he has a newer browser where eBay works.
So eBay is only working on browsers released/updated after 2023 if you're on a Mac. I haven't checked myself, since i rarely use my other computer.

Can you install a newer browser on your OS 11 computer and use eBay?
Can OS 10 macs install the latest version of any browser? If so, does that work?
It sounds like it may be an OS issue if your OS is old enough to not let you install a new enough browser.

I am having the same problem, ONLY with ebay, and I am not going to buy a new computer just so I can use this site. If it is not fixed I will have to abandon ebay in favour of Amazon or sellers' own websites.

Just using a newer/updated browser would fix the current eBay issue on OS 11.
It's people who predominantly use older Firefox and Safari versions that aren't able to update these browsers, so they create these threads when they find eBay being unresponsive. There's a few browsers that were updated within the last two years that work with OS 10, so their users may still be using eBay like normal.
And because it's only eBay that's borked, i am not compelled to test out other browsers, so i can't say it's an OS issue. Honestly, if google hadn't made it way harder to find simple answers like browser compatibility in the past two years, I'd spend the time installing the newest version i can.

I'm having the same problem. Everything was working until a couple of days ago. Seems like I had the same problem some months ago but think it went away on its own, didn't document it and can't remember for sure. I tried both Firefox and Safari using the latest version that will run on my OS 10..xx Everything works when I use my Android cell phone but not on either of my two Macbook Pros running OS 10.xx eBay obviously changed something and they need to fix it. Lot's of users are using older Macs for a number of reasons and can't simply upgrade their hardware/software. Wise up eBay and fix it. michael

Well now, that's interesting.... top-right corner of listing has "Share" and "Add to Watchlist" links, click "Add to Watchlist" link and I get this:

While it clearly benefits Apple et al to constantly require updates/upgrades, it would certainly behove eBay to remain as platform agnostic as humanly possible. No, if browser/OS has issues, it'll be everywhere and not just on eBay.

Safari - Apple's browser - has maintenance updates periodically, but new versions (upgrades) only come with a new OS upgrade. People used to switch to Firefox when they hit that wall, but eventually the machine (CPU) goes obsolete. Might be 10 years, but that's how it goes.

Exactly. Most sites work fine on my late 2011 MBP that's running 10.9.5, due to me needing access to my copy of Photoshop CS4. Some have done code changes that seem to require newer browser/OS versions, though. Case in point, eBay. And, yes, this all started on Tuesday for me.

Issue remains today, think the error message from listing's "Add to Watchlist" link tells the story. Never paid any attention to those links - if listing is already in watchlist, the "Add to" link is gone and only "Share" link remains. Make a new search for <whatever>, open a listing page, then click "Add to Watchlist" link top-right.
Should result in error message.

All working today, 4/30, apparently problem was not browser or OS related.
FWIW, Firefox no longer supports 10.14 Mojave (or earlier) according to Mozilla. Never used eBay phone app to buy anything (doubt it was affected), not interested in Chrome. Safari is working normally now.
Glad to see issue resolved!
