Bring back the "add another discount level" to Sale Event

The multi level discount sale event (one Discount Sale event that contains multiple percentages off) has been scrapped by ebay as another "improvement" AND without notice to Sellers.

This helpful feature from the Seller Hub has made consolidating discounts/markdowns easy for those who want to provide different levels of discounts for their items instead of making separate sale events for each percentage. When creating a sale event, there was an option to "add another discount level" (up to 10 levels). Using this feature made it easy for those who have groups of items they want to put in a single sale event but want to discount certain items at one percentage and others at another, and so on.

For example: a Seller wants to run a Sale on handbags but wants to reduce the price of some to 10%, some to 15%, and some to 25%. Instead of creating three separate sale events, this could be achieved and streamlined with the multi level sale event.

This is now no longer the case - after hours of research, phone calls, and chats, it is apparent that ebay will no longer provide this feature.

Along with failing to announce the removal of this feature, none of the representatives knew it was gone until it was brought to their attention nor could they give a reason why it was removed.

It seems that keeping a small bit of coding is not worth keeping ebay's members who use it happy. If ebay felt it was underutilized, maybe that's because there were no tutorials on how to use it - or even advertisements that it existed, for that matter.

What's the point in subscribing to an store if they are continuously removing all the features that make it stand out from other platforms? These "improvements" only make ebay less and less desirable as a platform to sell on.

For those who have used the Multi-Level Discount Sale Event feature and wish to see it reimplemented, please reach out to ebay and give your feedback.

I noticed this today 7Aug2024 and know it was working on 4Aug2024 as I copied an existing one.  To make matters worse, you cannot even see what existing categories you have set at various discount levels.  You never could actually see it once activated, but at least you could copy it and see what you had set.  But now you can't even do that.  I would have planned bettered had we been notified in advance.  😪

I just found this out today when making a new sale event. I couldn't figure out what was going on and figured I better look here at technical issues thread. I agree with your take but I can't see this as an "improvement" done by eBay on purpose. This would only hurt eBay, making it harder on sellers to create promotions only hurts eBays bottom line by discouraging sellers to create promotions at all. I hope (and bet) this is only a backend glitch of some kind that will get sorted out.

I've seen multiple posts about this. Go to this page:

https://www.ebay.com/sh/mkt/promotionmanager/dashboard

To the left of the blue create discount button on top right of page, there is a Comments link. Click on that to submit your feedback. This is a direct link:

Last week I could choose multiple discount percentages for a sale event. Today only one option available. Is this a glitch? Thanks.

Ditto, ditto.

Love all the 'improvements'. Just lost another hour of my life I can never get back and 2 calls to ebay (they were as unaware of the changes as I).

Left feedback for ebay, hope they bring this back.

This is exactly how I run sales and I discovered this change the hard way. I have a "clearance" sale that I have been running for over a year with 9 discount levels. It ended yesterday so I went in and copied it to relaunch it as I have done in the past. It did look different, but I finally got it where it said I had 9 categories selected and it was up to 50% off, so I launched it. Woke up this morning to discover that it had put EVERYTHING at 50% and some items had sold way under what they should have been priced and all my other items were 50% off. To make matters worse, the sale had not been up a full day and it wouldn't let me end it. I had to go into edit the sale and click on remove items multiple times to get everything taken off sale.  This has cost me time I would have used to add new listings not to mention the money lost on those sales. Not a happy camper at all. And yes I have reached out to the ebay facebook page and submitted feedback.

Just today I just noticed this valuable, time saving feature has been discontinued. Shame, as it was a great feature and saved so much time. Hopefully they will bring it back.

It's a shame if they have discontinued this very helpful and user friendly feature, it was my favorite sales tool.

It would be appreciated if someone from the eBay Sales Team would respond to our concerns here.

@wastingtime101

Thank you for the links! I've previously reached out to ebay via phone and FB, and have just now submitted the survey (with VERY candid responses) via the link you've provided. I hope others will give their feedback, as well - hopefully, ebay will have enough users complain about the removal of this feature to reimplement it.

The worst part: they've taken this feature away right before peak season. UNBELIEVABLE!  (Well, actually it is very much on par with ebay's perpetual sabotaging of Sellers)

I am just finding out about this unfortunate change today.  I was unable to copy over my long running sales event with multiple percent-off discounts.  This change forces me to make 6 different sales events that will just clutter up my "discounts" page.  Promotions page was way better.  I don't see any improvements to this page, only a name change.  It looks the exact same to me, I just have fewer tools.  I filled out the survey as well to let eBay know how unhappy I am with the results.

I just found out about this change today.

This is absolutely horrible.

I have submitted the comment as advised by Wastingtime101.

Hopefully eBay reverts this ASAP.

My entire pricing structure was based on tiers.

Whatever person in management who decides this needs to be fired. Anyone with thousands of items have now be totally screwed over. The amount of hours I now need to spend to get my items at the proper markdowns and now customers can’t look through ONE INDIVIDUAL SALE and need to now look through a handful all at different markdowns (which they most definitely won’t do)

im furious at this. Why am I paying monthly for a store??!
