Barcode Scanner

I'm listing media today that have barcodes.  The scanner is only working about 1/3 of the time.  Sometimes it works when I'm scanning under "Search", sometimes it works when I'm scanning under "List", and most of the time it works when I'm putting the UPC in the "Item Specifics".  Very frustrating.

Some scanners do not recognize ISBN or UPC numbers that have been de-listed by the manufacturer or publisher.  Some scanners also do not recognize ISBN or UPC numbers which are "out-of-date" or obsolete or manufacturer recalls.  And most scanners do not recognize older ISBN numbers having less than 10 characters.

And don't forget -- the seller is responsible for all the information provided inside the listing -- even if it DOESN'T match the information provided by the barcode!

Scanners themselves do not know know if anything is obsolete or deleted or removed. All a scanner will do is pass the info back to the program that is looking for barcode data.
