BIN is ONLY wanting instant payment

I sell multible items to collectors who want to combine purchases.  My sales and I am led to believe  EVERYONE'S sales at this time are required to be instant payments.  This does not work for me.  Here is a note from a customer who is trying to buy several items for my combined shipping.

Re: BIN is ONLY wanting instant payment

That could work as a temporary solution. Sellers are not required to combine or refund excess shipping.

Even if refunded by the seller, eBay still collects fees on those refunded amounts. Not a good situation for buyers or sellers.

Agree , not fair to seller to pay ebay 10% final value fee on shipping & then refund buyers back
ebay will not refund that difference.
I am not having the issue , hoping the OP gets an answer .
I don't might testing by adding to cart but I sure can't test buy it now on all their items to see if it works.
hope thy get this fixed soon

Re: BIN is ONLY wanting instant payment

I wonder if ther system would count that against her though , if her shipping time is say one day and you had a paid for item then the system would pick up an "unshipped" item ?! This situation is a problem.

Re: BIN is ONLY wanting instant payment

If you need combined shipping from one seller, can you put the items in your cart, then check out entire cart?
Just a thought. OR ask seller to set up auction with the items you want as a "lot" with discount already applied so you can just BIN and check out?
Perhaps one of these solutions will help.

Re: BIN is ONLY wanting instant payment

Or Ebay should just fix the problem?

Has anyone actually spoken to anyone at Ebay about this issue?   What did they say?

Are they even aware there is a problem?

Re: BIN is ONLY wanting instant payment

Same problem for me peggyfeltrope. I called CS yesterday and they have filed a report to hopefully get it fixed. I have had 5 different buyers complain about this issue. All longtime customers who are getting frustrated. I had this issue last year also. It was eventually fixed but took awhile.

Re: BIN is ONLY wanting instant payment

Just to add, there is a workaround for buyers but they would have to contact you to find it out.
If a buyer wants to purchase multiple items and take them off ebay, they can add them to their cart and then request total from seller. The seller does not have to actually send an invoice but this acts in the same way as if the buyer was hitting the commit to buy button. This is the only workaround that I am aware of at this time until they get it fixed.

I would suggest anyone that is having an issue to call Ebay to report it as it is more likely to encourage them to make it a priority. Moreso than if only one or two people contact them.

Re: BIN is ONLY wanting instant payment

Everytime I try to use the bin it makes me sign in and wants an instant payment.  It is really getting old.  I like to wait till the seller sends invoice. Kathy

Re: BIN is ONLY wanting instant payment

My customer was on line with them and she wrote to me saying....
It’s an eBay problem! And they don’t know why!!!!! It’s not just a problem for us! It’s all buy-it-nows!
they have not fixed it. I have been refunding shipping.

Re: BIN is ONLY wanting instant payment

I have suggested the cart to several customers and they do not want to use it. Why? Because I post new doll hats every Sunday night and I have several waiting with the fingers poised above the BIN. If they put it in the cart they may lose it with another buyer clicking the BIN and I would not have time to send them a combined invoice anyway. Not only am I refunding shipping on many sales but the customer is frustrated. I can not hold them to ship until they are ready as I have the 1 day shipping for the TSR rating. So I guess I can kiss that goodbye.

Re: BIN is ONLY wanting instant payment

That's just to bad that these glitches are nonstop , not just with this issue but many more.
If it was affecting me & I was refunding the shipping difference in which ebay keeps the final value fee on , I would be on the phone screaming as the seller.
No buyer should have to call & deal with this issue, you are so lucky you have an item buyers really want bad enough.

Imagine all the lost sales & buyers who just say forget it & move on to another site Smiley Sad

Re: BIN is ONLY wanting instant payment

Peggy,

If they put them in their cart and then request a total after putting them in the cart, it copmmits them to buying them and no other buyer can come in and snag them from them. The only time someone could buy them out from under them is the time they spend during that shopping session. But I also totally get that buyers do not want to do it that way. It's not user friendly.

Re: BIN is ONLY wanting instant payment

If I read one more reply about the cart being the same thing as hitting the buy it now for each individual item I'm just going to scream.  While you are loading your cart someone else CAN STILL BUY THE ITEM!  When you use the buy it now for each individual item it is yours RIGHT NOW.  You can then pay all at once, have combined shipping and everyone is happy.

I changed absolutely nothing about my auctions and I DO NOT have immediate payment checked, yet that is how all of my buy it now auctions are showing.  I've also seen this with EVERY item that I've tried to purchase over the past week.

I'm going to call this weekend, but this issue is costing EVERYONE money, including Ebay so I don't know why it hasn't been fixed.
