Anyone have problem with searches today?

I understand that there's something wrong with the searches every single day, but did anyone had theirs go haywire today?  One of mine that worked fine for years suddenly started throwing me to the generic category page.

Not that issue specifically, but I'm having an issue too.

Re: Anyone have problem with searches today?

What category were you searching in, originally?

Sometimes eBay reorganizes categories, or removes smaller categories -- that might cause your search to wind up in the next highest available category page. This is the most likely case, I think.

Then there are various bugs and glitches that cause individual search features to no longer work correctly. Many such bugs happen and are quickly fixed, but some of the more subtle bugs have lasted for months at a time. At the moment there seems to be a problem with the Advanced Search search-by-seller feature on ebay.co.uk, for instance, that has been going on for a couple of weeks now.

Every once in a while eBay makes major changes to the way searches work, and that can lead to many older searches no longer working at all, such as when eBay did away with wildcard searches in 2012. I have not noticed any major search changes like that since then.

I have a search which shows all used items in Cameras in Photo, not one subcategory, all of it.   I do suspect that eBay was messing with it as there was a small positive change in how it worked a couple of weeks ago.  Now, I don't get anything.

It seems that this may have something to do with the syntax of the search.  The original search has no search term defined, but I can search by one letter, which shows me almost everything, except that when I manually add it to the old search I still get nothing.   Oh, one thing, the search works fine on my phone app.

Try using the name of the category (or one word from it) as your search term.

That's more or less what I did for now.
