EBAY SOFTWARE GLITCH - HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
My address was listed correctly on my account, with my apartment number listed on address line 2. When I chose the address for shipping (as opposed to my billing address), I learned (following having an item returned as undeliverable) that the apartment number on address line 2 was dropping off and apparently not visible to the seller. After several phone calls to Ebay to alert them to this problem, a customer service rep verified that that was indeed happening. The seller, in the meantime, was being an uncooperative **bleep**, and in the long run Ebay let them keep the entire amount of my order instead of making them refund me minus the shipping cost! So apparently sellers get to keep all your money without recourse if your address is wrong. Ebay is now blaming me for not noticing the software glitch sooner, and they tell me the customer service notes from when I spoke to the last rep who verified the problem aren't sufficient enough to support what I am telling them. Ebay eventually gave me half the amount I spent in a coupon, but I feel totally ripped off, plus vilified by their customer service department. It would have been cheaper for Ebay to admit to the problem, reimburse the seller for the original shipping cost, and have me receive my item and avoid all the negative reviews. So much for customer service. Has anyone else had a problem with info on the second line of the shipping address dropping at checkout?
