Hello everyone,
I just got off a long and disturbing phone call with eBay security. They have suspended my account do to being flagged by several sellers and then by review from their risk management team. They’re committed to the decision as they have my IP address and are certain my activity violated their rules.
Here is the rub.
I haven’t used eBay in over a year.
The account they suspended shows that it was created in 2018. I have been an eBay account holder for many years, and I was out of the country for most of 2018.
I didn’t even realize there was a problem with the account till a few months ago, and have just now gotten around to checking what was happening.
I’m really concerned that my account has been cloned. They’re absolutely confident that the IP address can’t be faked, but I have never bid on anything, and have never sold anything... I’m a lurker and price checker!
How on earth does this happen??
Thanks for your help.

Do you mean there was selling/buying activity on your account that happened while you were gone and you didn't know about it? Were you checking your emails?
