Why do I continue to have problems accessing eBay web pages when trying to purchase items?

"Access Denied" errors when trying to check out or pay usually indicate some sort of network error.

If you are using a VPN, try disabling it.

If you are using a custom firewall, that may be causing problems.

Try paying using your phone or laptop when not connected to your usual network wifi.

The options provided are not helpful, and the issue occurs randomly while searching for products. I haven't encountered any problems during checkout, but when the "access denied" message appears, I have to wait between one to two hours before I can access eBay again. Does eBay provide information on which ports and URLs should not be restricted for firewall settings? Many users have cybersecurity software to protect them from malicious sites and advertisements, and it seems likely that eBay's communication might be triggering these access denied message. Has anyone been able to figure out what the  ref number means?
