Accepted an offer from a buyer But eBay shows item still listed for sale (Bug)?

I accepted an offer from a buyer but eBay is showing me my item is still listed for sale. When I got the email link to my item under offers it says awaiting payment, however that does Not show up under the sold or awaiting payment section on my eBay account. As I view the item it still looks to be for sale  This is from my home computer and not my cell phone

I’m currently having the same issue.  Cutting off the ability to communicate with someone who has made an accepted offer, seems counterintuitive. I have the item packaged, but can’t seal or label it until I receive the payment and shipping information.  On top of that, I see other watchers because the listing has remained active.  I’d prefer to honor the agreement, but forcing sellers to be in limbo for up to 4 days and leaving the buyer in the dark is ludicrous.  Come on EBay, this clearly is a failed experiment.  Can we please go back to the previous system?

Until the buyer you sent the offer to pays, it will remain for sale until someone actually buys.

eBay won't see or respond to your post. This is a peer to peer forum for buyers and sellers.

I realize that.  In my circumstance, the offer was made by the buyer and I accepted.  I’m just hoping that the notification system works as it should and the buyer REALIZES that I’ve accepted their offer. Otherwise, we could both lose out as a result of the buggy nature of the platform.

If I offer to pay you a million dollars tomorrow, but then I don't follow through, you are no worse off than if the offer was never made; you have not actually lost anything. You are not really out a million dollars.

Without the payment, the offer itself is worth nothing.

I have no need for eBay to see or respond to a post. However, it SHOULD be possible for the seller to notify the buyer after the offer has been accepted.  It’s been reported that buyers are not receiving the proper notification.  Therefore, when an offer is given on a Friday and I offer to drop it off during will call hours at my USPS on Saturday, that’s no longer possible unless payment is receive beforehand. If the buyer doesn’t receive notification, then they’re likely expecting it to go out on a Saturday, but will have to settle for a Monday drop-off.  This system leaves the seller idling on the transaction, and the buyer satisfaction likely declines as a result. If this is a bug, it should be fixed…if it’s by design, it needs an overhaul.

From reading the posts on here, people are not fully understanding what's actually happening. It's not a bug. The reason the payment is pending is because eBay cannot process the buyer's payment, and it is intentional from the buyer. To make an offer on an item, you now have to offer your payment details up front so that if the buyer accepts, payment is processed. So what dishonest buyers are doing is intentionally putting in payment information that will never go through. They are hoping you have auto accept on and are trying to see what your bottom dollar on the item is or what you will accept with no responsibility to ever pay. If they end up liking the auto-accept amount or your manual accept, they will then enter the correct information because eBay lets the offer stand for 24 hours.

What eBay needs to do to fix this is verify the payment information before it even lets them make an offer and just give them an error on the buyer's end of incorrect information, but they don't. Instead, it allows for a loophole. Here's the message copied and pasted from eBay:

We couldn’t process this payment.

We let the buyer know and asked them to update their payment method before time expires.

I'm having this same issue with 3 items today alone. I just still don't really understand this because when I submit an offer to a seller eBay makes a big deal that if the seller accepts my offer I'm committed to the purchase and will be charged instantly, which I always have been including just yesterday. But yet as a seller now, they submit an offer I accept and yet I'm waiting for a payment hours later? I don't get it
