Re: sales tax

eBay collects and remits sales tax to the buyer's state so the seller doesn't have to. Sellers do pay a fvf based on price of the item plus shipping plus sales tax if any.

As posted, eBay will collect remit, but some states require that a seller submit a sales tax form and show that eBay remitted.

ETA: somewhat of an odd question from a seller with 23,000 + sales

to add to it: Usually for those that had previously 'collected/remitted sales tax and reports' and then 'stop'.

They have to close their SREA accounts with their county/state if they sell no where else besides a 3rd Party (Amazon, Ebay etc.)
