Another frustration with this whole Managed Payments transition. I'm trying to enter my checking account info on the Add a Bank Account page and I'm getting a "please give us a different account for payouts" error. Looks like ebay already has my checking account linked to my account and the Continue button is greyed out. Do they seriously need me to have TWO accounts linked to my login to use eBay?

You don’t need two accounts linked.
It could be a glitch.
You may want to try clearing cookies or trying another browser in the meantime.

I’m trying add a bank account as it seems I can’t avoid switching to eBay payment any longer, I’ve set up a bank account this weekend purely for this purpose. But when I try to add it, I get the error message ‘please give us a different account for payouts’ — any ideas eBay?!

Is it a checking account? Is it with a bank or a credit union?

Same problem. If they do not get their glitch fixed so i can add my bank account I will be restricted from selling, no fault of mine. They also have my bank account as a backup for PayPal. If they had a programmer that knew how to write code he could link the two accounts together. I called the MP department twice, week before last (45 minutes) and last week (15 minutes) and still no solution to the problem. It does not seem to help but I will call them again this week.

It’s a regular account held with a well known high street bank, we tried it on the app & on a PC, with the same error message. Added my usual current account in desperation but I want to keep eBay separate from my current account, hence opening a new account purely for eBay....

It has to be a checking account. Not sure what you mean by regular account.
Make sure your name on your eBay account is exactly the same as your checking account.

You might want to ask for help on your home forum. This is eBay USA, where things are probably a bit different.

Ugh. I wish there was indication of country on the forums without having to check the fb page first.

Yes, it would help if each poster's country were show, and also if each forum page identified which country's site it belongs to. It might save people some time if they knew right away they were in the wrong place.
I only caught it this time because the OP mentioned a "High Street bank".

I had this problem too, and I found the solution!
The problem may be your Routing #. Many banks use *different* routing numbers for different kinds of transactions. If you're entering the Routing # from your checkbook or bank statement, you may need to see if your bank has a special routing # for electronic payments.
