managed payments

Dear ebay,if you don't want people to panic, you should not have eliminated your phone number.Your help pages do help with a lot.But there are times when we need to speak to a actual person to figure out your "managed payment program" you want everyone into.I have no idea what is going on---I downloaded my details, and it said congratulations, you are now in ebay managed payments. The next day was not as sweet---a red note on my seller hub says to update---I have---it is in my payment details---so why doesn't it notice the changes have been made? Nothing is highlighted that says fill this in--or this is incorrect,or add this---so I am left to figure this out on my own by process of elimination...You should be able to tell us what we are doing wrong,or what else needs to be done.I have resubmitted details 3 times and each time it says the same thing--even though the details are in payment options,it is not being noticed or observed. With no call backs or phone number, where do we go for help?????????????????????????????????????????

Re: managed payments

@purple*lillie. Glad I got at least half way there.

It sounds like you'll still need to call cs in the morning.  Be sure to call as close to 5am pt as you can.

I am sorry to have to advise people to rush to the phone in the mornings.

I hope that they get more agents in this department before they on board the next batch of sellers.

Re: managed payments

Hi, you can go to Help & Contact on most eBay pages, and request a call back. Or try customer service on eBay’s social media at Facebook and Twitter. (The call center was closed due to the pandemic but there is some limited phone help now.) Hope you are able to smooth out the issues you have soon. Best of luck.

Re: managed payments

Thank you for your kind reply.I do not do Twitter,or Facebook,I am old school 😞 I have jumped thorough hoops to get up to speed with managed payments.I bought a new windows 10 laptop, then printer--they were both a pain to set up.Then new cell phone for text codes. Then setting up a new acct for managed payments.Got card today---it has my middle initial.I checked with the bank,it all has my middle initial.I did my updates for managed payments--it said congratulations, your now in---the next day it wanted updates---i thought it might be the middle initial--since they want exact name.--So I went into my registration on ebay and added the middle initial to update it to be exactly the same as checking---but the red note in seller hub is still there.I went into update details box to add the middle initial---but you can not add or change anything there.I tried to contact ebay to have them change it--or am I gonna have to have a totally new checking acct again set up.The acct is new,and I don't have any monthly readouts yet to download. And to make matters worse,I have a return and a sale.I had withdrawn most of my funds from pp when I got the ok from ebay.To get a return, then have them put a hold on funds that weren't there in pp,but in my new acct.So then I try to go to pp,and add money back, and I get hit with security alerts, they want to send a text to my landline home phone. They had my landline phone as my cell phone too, which when I set the acct up--years ago--I didn;t have one.I tried to enter my cell phone and receive a code, but it would not work--2 hours on the phone with pp trying to get help fixing that issue. Finally hopefully it is fixed. Now I have a sale, and have no idea where that money went too,I will check tomorrow.Tried ebay phone number, they no longer use it.They refer you to help pages.Managed payments is not on their page to request a call back. And when I try something else--several times it said, they had no one to respond for that issue---it was a issue chosen from their box---and I still could not get a call back.I honestly do not know how they can stay in business. When selling here is no longer fun,it is looking like it is time to quit.I have never felt so let down by a business that constantly wants feedback.

Re: managed payments

Elimated.  Have you heard about Covid and the number of people who now must work from home instead of at the office where the phone rings??

Re: managed payments

@purple*lillie   Make sure that your name and address in your ebay profile match your bank EXACTLY.  I had to add my middle name to my ebay account.  Just add the middle name in the first name box with a space.  You can not use a po box for the registration address.  You can still use a PO box for the ship from and to address.

Verify that your birthdate and SS# is correct.

https://accountsettings.ebay.com/profile

The option to request a call back is turned off when the wait times become too long.  The best time to request a call back is 5am PT when they open

If you are using a cell phone be sure to turn off the spam filter as the call back may be blocked.

Re: managed payments

You can speak with person....go to HELP (give reason for problem).   Go to BOTTOM OF PAGE and request Callback (you will get return call in a minute).   Below is the little bit that I know about Managed Payments.

You will need to provide CHECKING ACCOUNT routing# and SOCIAL SECURITY# (for tax purposes).    Names must be EXACT MATCH on your checking account, social security and EBAY profile page.   If names don't match EXACTLY your application will be rejected and you will be required to provide additional information.

Re: managed payments

@caldreamer. You can not reach a MP agent that easily.

The option to request call back is turned off when the queue is full which happens just a couple of hours after they open at 5am pacific time.   Sometimes they open the line back up later in the day.

ONLY managed payments agents can assist with this.

Re: managed payments

Thank you for your help.I did go back and add my middle initial in the ebay acct and sign in registration. It now looks like bank acct with my middle initial.I think the problem is,I had already answered and filled out the request update email they sent to me,and on that it only had my first and last name.Note in seller hub still says to update and verify.I tried to renew the managed payment verification notice to unread and do it again add a middle initial--it only allows you to change bank info---not your name.So once I registered for managed payments,I can't go in and add it--it only has the first and last name.My registration for ebay info is compatico with bank name---but the managed payment entry notice , only has  my first and last name---ebay would have to send me a "new managed payments sign up notice,"so I could add the middle initial this time.I do have a p.o. box ship from and to address, but my physical address is in the registration part.It has to be the middle initial---if they could resend the notification letter to set up for managed payments,I could add my middle initial to it,and I think it would work then.

Re: managed payments

I can't get a payment to go through and it is speciafically with sellers on Managed Payments.  I was told by a rep that a way to finalize the payment is to bypass the manage accounts and that includes bypassing Ebay.  I told the rep that Ebay won't get paid, and they said, "Alright."

Re: managed payments

Don't worry, at least this angst and trouble and hassle will help you sell better.
