For those of us who hate this new ebay system. Boycott your purchases. Nobody purchase for a month see if they fold. I don't know about anyone else but this has been real sucky. It seems that I have to ship before I get paid. Also they outright lied to us. They said turnaround would be 2 days when it is proving to be 3-4 days. which means if I sell something thursday night, I don't get paid til the following wednesday or tursday. I don't know about you all but I feel really screwed by ebay. I have been on here for 20 years. I am boy\cotting. rally around this. Stand up for ourselves.

so a buyer from california pay 9.5% sales tax on item they purchased, let me simplyfi the math for your to understand, you seem like you dont get it because you dont sell on ebay, this is not about ebay buyer it is about ebay seller,
Buyer from california buy item from seller
Item Price = $9.99 Free Shipping
Cali Sales Tax 9.5% = $0.95
Total Price Buyer Pay = $10.94
Ebay New Fees 12.35% X $10.94=$1.35 + 0.30 = $1.65 Final Value Fees Charge To Ebay Seller
Old Ebay Fees + Paypal Fees
Item Price =$9.99
Cali Sales Tax 9.5% =$0.95
Total Price Buyer Pay =$10.94
Ebay Old Fees +Paypal fees 10% X $9.99 =$ 1 +2.9% X $9.99 = $0.29 +$ 0.30 = $0.59 = $1.59 Total Fees Paid.
Old Ebay Fees + Paypal =$1.59 Charged before
New Ebay Manage Payment Fees = $1.65 Charging Now
Seller Paying $0.06 more using new manage payment. do the math before talk please.

Yep, you are correct. Those numbers are right. Yes there will be the occasional sale that you will pay a little more in fees. But unless all your sales are only to California, I'd be willing to bet there are going to be variations along the way. Which is why just looking at a single transaction will NEVER get you to what the new fee structure means to your business overall. But if you prefer to do it this way, it is completely your right.
What you state above is exactly the fee structure I've been saying all along that you keep wanting to disagree with me on.
Speaking for myself. I sell to California, but then I'll have sales to other states too. Some that have much lower tax rates than California and some that have no sales tax at all. I've ran six months worth of numbers. For each of those six month my overall FVFs in MP have consistently saved me a little under 1% each month. Certainly not a big savings, but I'll take it. I like it much better than an increase. Which is why I keep saying that overall this change is more likely a neutral change to your overall fees.
Now I don't know why you continue to want to disagree with me as clearly you understand the break down.

What im saying before no matter where you sell it to, you paid and i paid the same exact fees using paypal no more no less, now you pay more in cali because fees its added to sales tax, so yes sellers are paying more on fees, i sell to the entire USA and 65% from California, this subject it was all about at the end we seller are all paying more on fees, but people here including yourself are saying that is not true, when i have been asking every seller to do that math for me and no one was able to do that for me, i sell the same item over and over again every day and each buyer i paid different final value fees with the same item only different buyer, but all of you keep saying still that new manage payment we are all saving on fees, and it is not true we are saving at all, but none of you agree with me, now i proof to everyone that ebay it is making profit from sales tax and sellers end up paying more on final value fees.

I don't know why we need to continue to rehash this information. Everything I've said so far is how it works. You have a good understanding of that as well, but you still have this need to argue some point with me that doesn't need to be argued.
I have no idea why, with the type of stuff you sell that 65% of your sales is shipped to California. You have a bit of an odd situation.
What I an others have tried to explain to you, but you refuse to acknowledge, is that you are NOT going to get an accurate view of the overall impact of the fee structure in MP if you are only going to look at one transaction. It just isn't possible to get an accurate overview doing that. Not every sale is equal. By your own admission they vary and that is logical. Those variation have to be taken into consideration.
So you have the tools. You understand how it works. It is just up to you. Compare one sale and say that is the impact on you or venture out, do a bit more work and compare a months worth of sales to see what the overall impact is for you. Its up to you. Do it or don't do it. Completely your choice.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER did I say that PayPay charges sales tax. This is the second time that you have said that I did, and there is no post by me saying that PayPal charges sales tax.
IF ................. I said they did................................... show the post where I said that, and I will apologize, and never post on this thread again.
For the third, or fourth time, I will repeat, PayPal charges a funds processing fee on the sales tax paid by the buyer.
That is what was shown in my screen shot, with the MATH to prove it.
eBay does not "CHARGE" sales tax. eBay "COLLECTS" the sales tax as required by many states.
I do not dispute the fact that eBay is charging the "simplified fees" on the amount of sales tax collected/processed.

Then i dont know why you can not accept the fact that seller are paying more on fees, the point is new manage payment we as seller do pay more on fees, but you continue not to accept that until now even show you proof and you keep giving opinion that does not make sense
11-07-2020 01:05 PM
oh now you are contradicting from what you said before after i proof it to you that paypal never charge sales tax on their fees, even you show pictures of it and i show you that was ebay sales tax not paypal, but now you saying stuff the other way, contradicting your self hahaha 😂🤣

Give it up. This guy will NEVER get it.

I'm sure it is nice for you you're probably retired and get your 4,000 a month pension you don't know what it's like to live from paycheck to paycheck.
I don't sell on ebay as a hobby or just for fun at kicks. I do it to get paid did you work all week long just to have your boss tell you you got to wait four days to get paid while we check to see how you did it's all **bleep** so was your stupid comment.
12-18-2020 12:19 PM
I worked two weeks before I got paid. Four days is like heaven.
