"seller does not want to charge me for shipping thru ebay"
Assuming you are at least the potential buyer . . . . . .
this is a problem for you -- how?

You've presumably tagged on to someone else's thread about a different problem.
You need to start your own thread and explain your problem in as much detail as you possibly can.

Many sellers use other means of shipping sites that are available and if you paid for shipping via your purchase thru eBay you shouldn't have to pay anything additional. The funds are there from your payment to purchase a label elsewhere. Contacting eBay isn't going to give you anymore answers than the ones you are getting here.
Have a great evening!

my problem is i bought an item and used it for 2 months and it failed i negotiated with seller, item warrantied for 1 year, after many messages he finaly agreed to send me a new item but he wants 20 dollars to ship it. i need the part . so i agreed but he wants me to send it to him not ebay . ido not know how to do that. it seems i should be able to talk to a person at ebay. i am 82 years old and all these sites drive me nuts when simple phone call to live person would make things go so much quicker. thank you fred

You can send him a check or a usps money order.

I suppose that $20 shipping is fair, no? Ideally, the seller would make a new listing for you @ $20 with Free Shipping.
Has the seller left you with the idea that you are to keep the first item he/she sent? I only ask because it may be in your best interest to open a Return, if that's the case. I mean, the seller has already come up with a satisfactory solution... the seller must know that a claim is another way to handle it.
I'm with you... I like to keep all my moves right here on the playing board that is eBay. But @fab_finds4u's suggestion would be a workaround that surely could work, too. Good luck.

He's had the item for 2 months. Too late for a return through eBay.

It's too late for a MBG return but the seller can still accept a return if the buyer requests it.
Since the seller had a 30 free return policy, he might agree to doing it that way. Also in doing it that way, he'd get his FVF credited.
