ebay hasn't released my funds

Hi!

Unfortunately I had to use ebay when selling a "Vintage Angelus Globe Weather Station". I say "unfortunately" as ebay must be the absolute bottom of what mankind has developed in terms of UI/UX!!! Having said this I have:

- Sent the item - updated the tracking no (DHL)

- The buyer has received the item

- I've agreed to partially refund the buyer - the buyer is happy and given my a top rating

Now, ebay has decided to keep my remaining funds "on hold" 'til April 24th???!!!

Please, for the love of God - there must be another site with at least a useful UI/UX and seller experience. This sucks! Sorry for sounding so **bleep**ed off but this is simply not OK with AI solutions leapfrogging this muppet show with HUGE margins!

Is there ANY possibility to get this sorted?

Many thanks in advance!

Re: ebay hasn't released my funds

Typically the first time you sell a high value item this will happen. They want to make sure you don't take the money and run for a scam item (laptop, game console, etc) Be patient, since the buyer left you feedback you may be able to speak to the payments dept (ask for a supervisor, anyone else just uses a script) and explain that you've received a positive feedback from the buyer and they may go ahead and release it.

This happened a few years ago to a seller who's first sale was a 15k Gold bar. Didn't get his money released for quite some time as you can imagine.

Re: ebay hasn't released my funds

Positive feedback has no bearing on getting funds released. You wouldnt be the first seller to receive a positive fb on your item, then three weeks later have the buyer file a not as decribed case. Ebay has a stringent thirty day MBG, they want to make sure any refunds come out of your pocket, not theirs. With no recent selling history, your funds are subject to be held for up to thirty days,

Returning sellers that have not sold in past 90 days, don't have a lot of sales or new sellers are subject to 30 day holds on payouts.

Those holds are applied to all new or have not sold in the last 90 days sellers.  Like that for all of us. Just have to wait it out. No way around it.

Re: ebay hasn't released my funds

30 days holds for new sellers on internet marketplaces and even payment services are commonplace. Ebay is not much different from other sites in requiring sellers earn their trust.

There is a common belief that one can sell items online for quick cash. It once was true but now is far less so, with even experienced sellers who have taken a break from selling having to again earn trust.

If you want quick cash, it is most likely to happen with an eyeball to eyeball transaction. And that apportions risk differently.
